Speedometer Spun Around - Not Working

Speedometer Spun Around - Not Working

The speedometer on my 06 Max has been completely spun around so that the needle bumps against the BOTTOM of the rest pin. Not sure how this happened, but I'd like to know if there's a way to reset it.

Hmmm that's strange I heard something similar and don't quote me on this but I heard a magnet was used to spin the needle back around

Thanks for the thread link Costee! It was a huge help.


Today I pulled the instrument cluster (10 min job) and used a N52 18lb strong magnet to spin the needle around. It was easy as pie and the speedo is working perfectly again.


For anyone apprehensive about pulling the cluster, this video is very helpful and shows just how simple it is:
