tranny help
I am running a stock 2004 maxima se and i have been having issues with the tranny dropping into 5th gear by its self. It wasnt that bad to begin with i would just take the positive terminal to the battery and it would fix it i pulled codes on the car recently and found that i have a bad cam position sensor (replaced today), a bad tranny speed sensor, and a u1000 can communication error i have read on the forums that fixing the cam sensor would help clear up the can comm error but it hasn't and it is dropping into 5th gear multiple times in a short distance. im wondering if the speed sensor will help clear up the can error and stop it from dropping into 5th so often or if someone can help me come up with some ideas on how to fix it.
P.S. cam sensor was the aft sensor (bank 1) that got replaced

You should change both cam sensors at the same time, be sure to use OEM sensors as well. I was having this problem after changing both sensors. My car was shutting off as well and giving trouble to restart. I changed the crank sensor and that took care of it. I actually used a Duralast crank sensor because I was so frustrated at that point. It worked fine and solved the problem.
Just a word of caution, do not keep running your car in 5th gear (safe mode) for long time. Your car may run too rich to melt your catalytic converter in no time. It's pain in *** to get catalytic converter fix. I am experiencing a catalytic issue (clogged-up) right now but it's more likely due to age of the car (165k miles) but not because I ran my car in safe mode for a while.
