Remote Start concerns
Remote Start concerns
My 2008 Maxima is outfitted with a remote start, the car will start with the remote, but when I hop in it to go it does not recognize the fob. Won't start with the key out of the fob? I unhooked the negative post, thinking it would reset the computer, no go. I turned the switch on remote off and still no go.
Any suggestions?

No clue your remote starter sucks or was poorly installed.
Cost me 500$ to have a quality remote starter(built in canada, not china) installed professionally by a guy with 25 years experience and it will start all the time cold or not.
Worth every cent during winter.
He said the best way to go around the chip thing was to use my valet key wrapped somewhere around the remote starter wire, and cold or not, it has never failed. Key is hidden somewhere really hard to reach.

Which starter??
What do you mean by "Won't start with the key out of the fob? "?????
I never take the key out of the FOB.
I had an Astrostart RSS-5225 installed.
I jump in (with car running and FOB in my pocket), turn ignition "on" and drive away.
