Glove Compartment Part

I'm looking for the part of the glove compartment that slows the glovebox down when you open it. If anyone has ever changed their cabin air filter, its the piece that the cord is attached to. If anyone have that spare piece or know the part number for that piece can you please let me know or point me in the right direction. It's not a big deal but I would like to get my glovebox working the way it's suppose to. I would just buy a box off of ebay but the prices are too high.

Take a picture of it, and if it matches what I have from my 5.5 gen, you can have it for free. Just pay shipping

I have the same issue with my glove box after I changed the cabin filter. The string is not broken but when I open the glove box, it just drops. Can someone please shine some light on this issue. Thanks!!!

I replaced mine on my 08 SE, if I'm correct, the part# is 68513-9N10A DAMPER ASSY-GLOV. My string tore, so it would attach correctly after that, but......

option #1... with a little patience you could take out the glove box assembly completely and it is attached on the rear. you could try to re-attach it, its just a little spring in a tube with a looped string that's supposed to attach to a hook on the glove box. a couple of screws takes off the damper and try and hook the loop. place the loop on the hook and leverage the hook open, careful no to break the hook or loosen the string loop....

option #2. if that doesn't work, do what I did.....I special ordered a new part at my local Nissan and cost around $15. look on nissanpartszone.com and its like $5 plus shipping. hope this helps, good luck.
