transmission noise

I have a 2007 maxima 115,000 miles , the car recently started making what i could only decribe as a roaring noise, almost sounds like the car wants to change gears, but the car is equipped with a cvt tranny, and no that it does not change gears. When I accelerate the car between 40 and 50 mph is when its at its loudest.. other than that the car runs fine just very noisey once the car is at 60+ mph the noise subsides almost unnoticably... any thoughts????
