Time to say good bye ...

My poor niece needs a car for a job ... I have to make a move to give her my 04SE. It has 127Kmiles and is still fine ... some small leaks started after changing plugs @110k.

Too bad the 2015 Maxima isn't here yet.
The 2014 Genesis has big discount but not many to choose from (2015 is too $$$).
So ... I got me a new 2014 Avalon Touring (for $5k off sticker)
* Goods: great MPG (26.x combined MPG vs 20.x on Maxima)
relaxingly smooth & quiet & comfortable (i am getting old)
great looking & luxurious.
less body-roll
* Bads: throtte isn't as aggressive.
brake pedal has little feedback (my main disappointment, will get used to it).
audio not as full & warm & powerful.

Anyway, I will probably have to help to maintain the old Max. But will miss my Max for sure. And will miss the forum also.
Enjoy your ride. Thanks for the memory.

Sorry you had to part with your Maxima but you're a good person for being there for your niece. That's what family does.

I haven't heard too much ever about the Avalon. How much horsepower does it have?

268 hp and about 250 torque out of the glorious 2GR-FE engine. Quite possibly my new favorite engine, if for no other reason than the noise that engine makes with nothing more than simple bolt-on mods (I/H/E, etc.). Those engines sound amazing. YouTube will satisfy you with such car ****. Give it a listen.
