replacing low pressure ac hose

I discovered I have a leak in my low pressure ac hose coming from around the coupling. trying to find out if this is as simple as removing old hose, install new one and recharging the system? It still blows a little cold so I am wondering about freon still in the system as well.

I recall when mine went, they replaced motor mounts with the job (3rd party warrantee foot the bill). They said the excess movement put too much presser on the AC hoses. Something to think about.

Need to find out how much freon the system holds. If I recall I could not find the a/c sticker under my hood. It may also be in my book as well.

Yes, fairly simple job. HIGHLY recommend replacing both low an high pressure hoses since system is empty already, and it eliminates guesswork where exactly leak originated. Don't forget to properly evacuate and vacuum the system prior to recharge. Amount of refrigerant is listed somewhere in FSM, but proper way to recharge is not by oz., but by pressure chart with ambient temps, also somewhere in FSM. You would also need about 1 oz of PAG oil (either 46 or 100, can't remember), either in a mix with refrig, or add through suction line.

That actually makes a lot of sense.. especially if you rev redline often I could see how this theory may cause leaks in the AC line.

More money D:

Not sure about replacing high pressure line aswell if there are no leaks. They are expensive but suppose you could for piece of mind otherwise the above post is good info. Too many people don't think to vacume the system just fix leak charge with cans and go but that can cause issues at some point if the system doesn't get evacuated properly.

I replaced it a week ago tomorrow and it seems good so far. I did not bother with the other hose as I could tell where the dye was coming out of my old one. apparently these lines are known to break on these cars as well...maybe add it to the list of all the other "bad" things on these cars

If anyone is following, I was able to replace the hose without removing the fan. It was pretty simple to do...2 bolts and that's it. It took maybe an hour from jack up to jack down.

Yes, that would be nice. I'm experiencing a leak in that area as well and would like to fix it. I was quoted $600 for the job and that seems ridiculous.

Thanks in advance
