06 Maxima hard to start

Hey guys, I have an 06 maxima and after letting it sit for a while it it either takes a really long crank or two cranks to get the car started and it kinda sputters back to life. Once the car is started it runs fine. There is no check engine light. If I start it 10 or 20 min after of having it shut off it starts up right away. Im thinking maybe the fuel pump is losing fuel pressure? Do the 6 gens even have a fuel pressure test port? What else should I check? I don't want to just start throwing money at it. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance

Mine does something similar, but not close to a hard start (may have to hold the key to ignite another second or two before she starts).

I would check the starter, then alternator after.....am still running OEMs, with 250K miles.... am watching this one closely.

How many miles on the car? Where the plugs ever replaced? Something else to consider...

They are pretty common plus I got a good deal on them so I went ahead and changed them out but they didn't fix the problem. I was also starting to notice a loss of power when trying to pass other vehicles so I went ahead and ordered a used fuel pump assembly off ebay for about $50 and wala! Problem solved! Car starts right away on the first turn of the key and no more power loss. Hope this helps out anyone having the same issue.

If you've left the car sitting awhile it could just have put a bit of a drain on the battery as well. Try giving the battery a good charge then move on to other things like checking your connection at the starter for corrosion. Was it having that issue before you let it sit for a period of time? If your leaving it sit too long then it starts right away after having it run for 20 minutes and shutting it down leads me to thinking its just your battery.

The battery is only a couple months old and the problem was resolved after I changed the fuel pump. Apparently the fuel pump wasn't maintaining fuel pressure.

how much did the fuel pump cost you? I have had the same starting issue in my 04 for over 2 years and would love to solve that issue! mines occasionally doesn't start on 1st try but always on 2nd.

Yeah i rode around like that for a while too. Well i bought a used one off ebay for 49.99 and it's been working great. I believe a new Bosch fuel pump assembly runs for about $185. Sorry for taking so long to reply!
