Again, Just picked up a 2007 Maxima on Monday.

Leaking a drip of oil just about any where I go. Question that I have, is there any common places where the oil leaks? Oil pan gasket, oil pan drain plug, Valve cover? Haven't had the time to get into it yet. Just would like to know where to start first.

 

I don't hear much of this issue on Maxima ... but a lot on the Murano (same engine) ...
My own 07Murano had this issue. It's probably the gasket at the base of the oil-filter.
About ($15 gasket + $45 labor) if I remember correctly.

 

Rear Valve Cover gasket is most common.


Jack up car, and slide from driver door towards center but to the rear of the firewall.


Shine flashlight up in that area, and look for moisture.


I think I posted a link on how to do.... takes a bit of work but easy to replace gasket...
