Should I keep my HID's or switch to LED?

I've got 5000k HID's in my car but I'm trying to decide if I should keep them or switch to LED. I've heard good things and bad about LED's and I wanted to know if you guys have had any experience with them.

Plug and play LED bulbs don't output enough for use as headlights or fog lights. Don't waste your time/money.

I found a few that comes with a driver like a ballast and claim to have a output of 2200 lumens on low beam and 2600 on high. From what I've been reading they say that LED does not have the same throw as HID.

I wouldn't change my HID'S. I have LED'S and I hate them. I want to change mine to HID'S. They're dull and you can't see as far with the LED'S

Those claims are very exaggerated.

If you were to get LED bulbs, you would need multiples of them just like the new cars. Can't beat HID power.

And the reflector housing has to be designed around it to optimize performance. That's part of why drop ins don't work too well.

Just mount this behind the bumper and cut some holes for the light to come out.

The bulbs doesnt get hot. It is the chip.

And I left an eBay special light bar on all day at work once. Came out and it didn't drain my battery. Truck was still able to start.

I wonder what happens to led lights in the winter. Normal bulbs give off enough heat to melt ice and snow off the glass.

I just hit the ice off. Most LED light bars are designed for abuse. Not sure about LED head lights.

Also, the chip is still inside the housing, so heat can transfer through the housing to warm them up some.
