Sick Maxima

I own a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE with little over 72,000 original miles. Today I took a short trip out of town. I made a stop about 50 miles later but when I started car again the Service Engine Soon light came on but vehicle ran fine, I drove a few miles and made a stop, got back in vehicle and started it and drove it almost a mile and the engine shut off, I re-started car and drove back home but ever time I pressed on the accelerator I could only get it to accelerate to 20 MPH when traveling up hill but traveling down hill I could get up speed to maintain speed limit on level ground till I started up hill again. I could mash accelerator to floor but would only rev to around 3500 RPM. and speed 20 to 30 MPH. Anyone had this problem or know what could be the problem ? Thanks !

Pull the codes.

I am betting cam position sensor or possibly a crank position sensor.

You are correct, had car checked today by a Nissan tech and it was the cam position sensor. Had it replaced cost me $150.00. Thanks everyone for your responses.
