Transmission Issues

Any recommendations here... I have replaced the transmission in my 04 maxima, now it has all gears when manually shifting, however will not shift on its own.. could this be the TCM?? before replacing the transmission it would shift from first to second, then lost everything from there... anyone have this same problem ever???

I have looked into maybe resetting the TCM, have also looked into ordering another TCM, just wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for this, as I would rather not keep racking up higher repair bills if it may be something easy to reprogram or replace... no codes are showing up and the SES light is not on either, the replacement transmission had 60K miles, when manually shifting it does ok, but in drive it stays in one gear...please help!!!!

when you replaced the trans, did you plug all the sensors back in? Take it to a shop that has a transmission code scanner, sometimes those codes will not set the SES off and the typical scanner will not read them.

Also, 5sp or 4sp?

it is a 4sp, and yes I did make sure all sensors were plugged back in, I also replaced the camshaft position sensors, as I did see threads about them.. the original trans would shift from 1st to 2nd, then basically go to neutral, after putting the replacement trans in, it doesn't want to shift, sometimes will shift to 2nd but rarely.. when manually shifting I have the gears but that's it....
