P0340 and Wiring/Battery issues?
P0340 and Wiring/Battery issues?
I have a 2007 Maxima 3.5L. Lately the lights on the steering wheel are flickering when turning or braking. Also, driver side headlight flickers and sometimes goes off. If I turn the headlights off and back on it will come back on. Yesterday, after getting gas, the TCS Off, Slip and Service Engine Soon light came on as soon as I put the car in drive and began to move forward. The engine cut off but restarted fine. The warning lights are still on but car moves with no stutter or rough idle. There's a slight occasional rattle noise somewhere under the dash on the passenger side when accelerating. Sounds like a Coke can sitting on top of change in the cup holder. There is corrosion build up on the negative terminal of the battery. A test at auto zone brought up the P0340 code. Would the battery be causing these issues? Or should I look into purchasing a new camshaft position sensor? Which, btw, I'm not even certain which one to get since the sell both a "right" and a "rear" one.
P0340 is for bank 1, rear/close to the firewall. Yes, the FSM says a weak battery could also be culpable. The intermittent breaks on your steering wheel controls could also be explained as an indication that your spiral cable (clockspring) is beginning to fail.
