06 Maxima Question About Tranny

Am trying to figure out what exactly to do to fix the transmission problem with the 6th gen. I'm confused because I'm seeing 2 different fixes for it just want to know which one is the right one. Is it the Transgo shift kit or the Rostra solenoid ???

I do not know if which is better the Transco Shift Kit or Rostra solenoids. I used the Transco kit. The kit will come with 2 each valves that are to be installed in the valve body (for some unknown reason Transco does not provide the valve body gaskets and you must purchase separately. One good thing is if you mic the solenoids end dimensions before disassembly and reinstall with the same dimensions then the solenoids control pressures should be correct. This may be true with the Rostra solenoids. Also, when you install the valve body valve it gives you a chance to clean some of the valve body or you can disassemble and clean completely if you want to.

After reading what I wrote I must admit it was confusing so I am trying a rewrite. As noted I can only comment on the Transco Shift Kit. The kit will come with directions on how to remove and rebuild the 3 each solenoids. (There is also a very good video by Hiram Gutierrez showing how to rebuild the solenoids.) The kit also contains 2 each valves for the valve body. Some people only rebuild the solenoids and do not install the valves. If you install the valves you must purchase the valve body gasket because they are not included in the Transco kit. (Hiram also has a video showing how to rebuild the valve body.) Good luck
