My problem involves my shifter getting stuck occasionally when shifting from drive to reverse. My 2006 Maxima just recently started this. The dealer says there aren't any codes and unless they can duplicate the condition, they can't repair. I have been driving trouble free for over a week before it recurred. Moving the shifter back and forth will finally allow me to engage reverse. Anyone more knowledgeable than Nissan technicians?

 

Probably your shift lock controller is on its way out. It's a devise enclosed in a plastic covering under the steering dash. Part number is 28540-7Y00A.
