Replace Full Wheel Hub assembly or just berring.

Replace Full Wheel Hub assembly or just berring. Hello I have a 2005. I've been driving on a sticking rear caliper for about 5,000KM's before I actually noticed today, From my quick inspection today I'm thinking it just a sticking slide pins that needs to be cleaned and greased and I wont have to change the calipers, however with the heat that has generated I think the wheel hub bearing must of seized (I'm going to see if vibration continues after I replace slider pins tomorrow. My question here today is since I don't have a press for the push bearing should I just spend the extra $50.00 and replace the whole wheel hub assembly? I's it fairly easy and is it better than just changing a bearing?

Thanks guys!

since its the rear wheel, it should be fairly simple, just change the hub and bearing all together. basically remove "axle" nut, caliper, rotor, it should slide right out.

I may been incorrect but I do not believe that you can just replace the bearing on the rear, only the front. Even if you can I would replace the entire hub as a unit. If you do use a quality unit such as SFK, Timken, MOOG, etc. Do not use some cheap unit. Go to Rock Auto. Their price and selection is great.

You can replace the bearing assembly on the rear easy. 4 bolts is all it takes and the part is cheap. DO them in pairs.

Awesome thank you guys!

So after I changed the guide pins and replaced the pads looks like there is no more vibration! I'm very happy I didn't have to replace anything but now I know for the future!

Thanks!
