2007 headlight problem

My drivers side headlight has been going on and off randomly for a few weeks now and I have no idea why. Sometime it will just randomly flash a few times, sometimes it will completely turn off. When it does turn off, I just turn the headlights off and back on and everything is fine. It will randomly go away for days and then reappear for no reason. Its not related to any bumps or anything, I've actually seen it turn off at stop lights. Its also happened when I am on the highway at about 2700 RPMs. I am sure they are the original bulbs, is this possibly a sign the bulb is going bad? Or is it more in depth, perhaps a loose wire? Either way, it is driving me nuts. I am not trying to get any unnecessary attention from the police, and they will pull you over for any small thing in my area. So what ideas or experiences do you have??

If it is an HID headlight, chances are your ballast is going bad. The same thing happened to me.

DeusEx,
Thank you for the tip. If anyone would know about the 6th Gen issues, its you. After hearing from you, I talked to a mechanic friend and he said that would make sense. Now I need to see what needs to be done and how much to fix it.
