Start/Electrical issue
Lately I've had random issues where my 08 Max won't start and there is zero power (no accessories, no headlights no dash lights...nothing). The first time it happened a few weeks ago I thought it was a dead battery even though the one in it is only one year old, because I think I remember there being some accessory lights but when I went to crank, then absolutely no power. Popped the hood, went to get my other car lined up to boost it and decided to try and crank it one more time and it started like nothing was wrong at all!
It continues to happen about 4 times a week. Sometimes all of the presets (radio, trip odometer, seat position memory) are all reset, but sometimes not. I've noticed that when I pop the hood, the security light on the dash doesn't flash, but when I wiggle the battery a bit, it comes back on...sometimes I can start it then, sometimes just the accessory lights come on but zero crank occurs.
Could this be a bad starter solenoid? Bad ground? I did have to have a daytime running light module added to it when I moved back to Canada and I have also noticed that the cornering lights that they used as the DRL seem to flicker sometimes.
Anyone have any experience like this, or advice?

Wiggling the battery and the car will start is a good indication that you have a bad connection. Check that the battery cables are clamped on tightly to the battery terminals. It is possible that one of the battery cables is bad in that the wire that goes into the clamp is becoming loose and corroded. Next time try to isolate the problem to a specific cable by wiggling one cable at a time and see if the engine will crank.

Your statement needs some clarification. Does the remote work when the horn is not sounding? Or does the remote not work all the time? Have you replaced the battery in the remote?
The going off when you open the door is probably the car alarm. Normally you lock the doors to turn it off. Have you tried locking the doors?
