trany rebuilt and issue

Hi Guys
my tranny gone in limp mode and i took it to Remco Transmission shop. they gave me pricing quote of $1200 but later on they jack the price to $3500 after they opened the car.
Remco transmission rebuilt my tranny 6 times already. but it still slam when i shift gear. according to remco, its normal behavior. they took the car and kept it with them for few days and when i pick up the car, its has the same symptoms i described to them.

I would find another transmission shop. 6 rebuild is ridiculous, unless they are covering the repairs on warranty or something. After the 2nd time, they lost their credibility.

Dude you need to tell us what happened more....why did they charge you 3500 after they opened it up and told you it was 1200 for A rebuild already. What parts were replaced ? You need to go there and speak up ASAP....3500 is insane. Read the review first before you go to those scammers....if you need A good shop PM me I can help you.

They pretty much gave me price quote of $1200.
They called after 5 PM and jacked up the price... Tranny have mettel Peace's and valve body needs to be rebuild and tranny cooler also need to be replaced. Total of $3500...
All the money is paid and when I shift it slam on R and P. I took it back the tranny shop and described the symptom. They called back after 2 days saying it's fixed. But when I pick up the car, it's does the same . slam P to R and D to R.
They kept saying it's normal.......
Can anyone suggest what can I do to have them work on tranny....

If it was me, I would take the receipts and find another shop to look at it. Take what they have back to the 1st shop and see what they say.

Do not know anything about Remco Transmission. $1,200 is about what it cost to replace the valve body and solenoid. You do not have to remove the transmission to replace the valve body. Can only assume that they removed the pan and more damage and called you. Do not know where you live so, $3,500 may or may not be a bad price. I live in Houston and my son paid a little over $3,000 some four years ago. Find the best shop in your area and have them look at vehicle. In the Houston area there are 100's of shops but we narrowed down the repair to only two after much research. They were not the least expensive but did a great job. Transmission did not slam in any gear. If the repair is done correctly it should shift just like new.
