Coil Pack failure on 07 SE with 78k miles?
Just had a coil pack go on my 07 SE. The bad part of this was my daughter and wife were coming back from a pretty far medical appointment involving some very difficult roadways. They made it Ok but were freaked out.
So it's fixed now - I went ahead and replaced all the coil packs and the plugs and did an induction cleaning. So it's over. Went with OEM and don't regret going that route or the cost.
But I am surprised by this. I know some of you are going to say - it's electrical - and hence can fail at anytime. And we have had VWs so I know those go through coil packs like candy. But I figured on the Nissan they would last the life of the car. We have had Honda products with more than double this mileage and no coil pack issues ...
The Maxima is a pretty good car - I bought in new in 07. But I am pretty disappointed in the types of issues I have had with this car. The coil pack is the latest surprise ...

I feel your pain on Random 07 issues. It seems every month for the last 6 months, I have been putting 1 couple hundred dollars into my 07. Whether its suspension; control arm, bearings, tie rod ends, sway bar end links, sway bar and now shocks and struts; or mechanical/electrical issues. It seems the second i feel I have caught up with the issues another one pops up. Either way, I can't complain about owning an 07 with 123,000 miles.
