Need to remove steering wheel controls

The jackass at Carl's Jr spilled my soda in my 05 Maxima SE. Thankfully most went in my lap and not all over the seat. But some got inside the steering wheel controls and now they're sticky. They work fine, but feels sticky and don't move as well as they did. How do I remove them to clean them??
Thanks

Make the person who spilled the soda pay to have it done

The drive through high school kid at Carl's Jr?? I doubt he has spare money.. lol. I can do it with instructions. Do they come off with the airbag? Can't remove without removing airbag?

Well crap.. Decided to just try and disconnect battery and spray some contact cleaner in the switches while rocking them back and forth. Apparently a bad idea. Now the power and source buttons work fine but both rockers are screwed. When I push up on either the volume or preset rocker, they increase volume. And pushing down on either does nothing at all.. Wonderful.. So much for that..

I have been wanting to replace my cover but haven't looked into replacement cost or how to remove. Does it just snap on/off or is there more to it?
