Vibration in Steering Wheel in all new Maxima

Dear members and Nissan,

While test driving the new 2016 Maxima, I enjoyed the engine power. It handles above average and in sport mode, there is an increase in sensitivity in the gas pedal. Before the test drive, I adjusted the tires to 33 PSI and the ride was good. The factory tires were average slipping out of corners.

The cars did not shake and had a good alignment. The only thing preventing me from buying a new Maxima is the "Ongoing Vibration" in the Steering Wheel at all speeds and the passenger seat not being able to power up vertically for short passengers. HID lights in needed too in the S and SV model.

I test drove a new 2nd Maxima on the lot and they all have that annoying Steering Wheel vibration problem. The steering wheel shaking vibration was annoying throughout the whole 30 minute drive. Maybe it's part of the electric steering thing but Please fix this Nissan.

Your future Maxima owner.

No vibration here in 4 K miles of driving. Agree to the needed vertical adjustment of the Pax seat

Thanks. I'll probably go to another dealership to compare the new Maximas.
I like the power it has in sport mode.

I just can't get over the fact that the steering wheel was vibrating my hands violently during the drive. I couldn't live with my hands vibrating all the time during the drive. My family's new Impala and Camry doesn't have this hand vibrating issue in the steering wheel.

Vibrations in the steering wheel are usually a function of the wheel/tire/brake assembly and adjustment, and can almost always be fixed. But you don't want to start out with a vibration in a new car. I found no vibration in any of the 2016 Maximas I tested, and certainly none in the one I bought six months ago. I have heard nothing but positive reviews for the new electronic steering in this 2016 Maxima.

Like you, I REALLY wish the front passenger seat could be raised. I am almost six feet tall, and I feel I am sitting too low in that seat. My wife is five feet six inches, and might as well have a TV installed in the glove compartment, so she can watch it at 'eye level.'

Not that I recommend this to anyone, but sometimes it happens because the ride was so smooth. I went a hundred a few times and during that time it was free and clear of vibrations and felt like I was going 75.

I wasn't going to bring up the high speed issue, but since others have done so, I will mention that this is the first car I have ever owned in over sixty-five years of driving (yes, I have been a member of AARP for well over thirty years) in which I felt NO vibration in the steering wheel in speeds the mods don't want posted here. Such a wonderfully pleasant high speed driver!
