Instrument panel illumination issue
Instrument panel illumination issue
Hello, I drive a 2004 Nissan Maxima. This morning, while it was still dark out, I went to quickly flip on the interior lights using the dome switch. At that point, the switch broke. Since then, I wired up the broken switch to have the lights turn on when I open the door, same way I had it before, so that is all good and working well.
After that happened, however, I noticed that my illumination panel was very bright even though my headlights were on. It wouldn't get dimmer when I tried adjusting the dimmer switch. I don't know if I blew a fuse, or which fuse it would be considering the backlights are still on and functional. I can say, however, that while trying to play around with the dome switch, it's very possible I shorted something out...
Anyone else have experience with this? Any ideas? Thanks! Let me know if you need more information.

Okay I solved my problem, the tail light fuse blew. In case anyone else has an issue:
There is one more fuse box hiding by your wiper fluid, the tail light fuse is a 15 amp fuse, and its in that box.
