I have issues with my (2004) SL. Engine misfires at startup in cold weather, but smooth's out after engine gets warm and idles at around 750rpm. I also have seen the SES (service engine soon) indicator light tripped by this condition, and then go out by itself. I replaced the spark plugs and it seemed to fix the issue, but as soon as the cold weather returned, the issue returned with it! A member in another forum offered this tip: Check the ECTS (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) that it is reporting the correct temperature. Can anyone tell me where this sensor is located? Another observation of this issue is that the SES lamp sometimes blinks on and off...
