Will 04 5AT interchange with 05-06?
Hello all!
I just bought my first Maxima, and it has transmission problems. This is apparently much more common on these than I would have imagined. I've tried searching for hours, but haven't been able to find the answer to my question.
My car is a 2004 SE with the 5 speed auto. I'm finding much more availability with transmissions listed for 2005-2006 Maximas (as well as less expensive). Can anyone confirm if the 5 speed auto transmission from an 05-06 will fit in my car?

2004 Maxima will only accept the 04 transmission. The 05-06 will interchange with each other.
Not sure why, but something changed in the wiring of the 2005 car that makes the 04 version unique.
Oh, and I have installed the later valve body in the earlier vehicle, by mistake. It would not function properly. So don't try that.
