2007 Maxima: Replaced battery today, and now engine cranks but won't start!!
Help all!
2007 Maxima SE, 184k miles:
My son killed the Battery today. He tried to jump it, but couldn't get enough juice into the battery to make it turn over. The battery has been getting weak for a while.
I picked up a new one and replaced it.
Now the engine will crank away, but won't start!
I've gone through all the fuses I can see. Don't know how to test relays.
When ignition is switched to on, I believe I can hear the fuel pump priming.
Can anybody help me?

Okay, I noticed the r d led on top of the dash near the windshield, it stays solid red when the ignition switch is turned to the on position. stays solid red while cranking the engine.
Thoughts on that?

The weak battery probably caused a lock-mode of the NATS. He also probably left the key in the ignition cylinder when he removed the battery. Try this:
1. Turn ignition switch ON. Wait 5 seconds.
2. Return the key to OFF position. Wait 5 seconds.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
4. Start the engine.
Your spare key if available is preferable.
If all fails, run a scan and pull the codes. It might be necessary to reprogramme the key(s).

I believe all the 07's were push button, right?
That said, something may have gone wrong with the attempted jump. That's why cops won't jumpstart people with their own battery/car, for fear something goes wrong and you break an Interceptor.
If you can't find a fuse, or other direct problem, you might have to go the dealership route.

Car is at the dealership now.
I downloaded the FSM and tried the exit LOK procedure, with no success.
The red antitheft LED on the dash stays lit when the ignition is turned to the on position, I'm hoping that means the car lost programming with the key, and that a key reprogram will bring it back to life.
I'll post up when I get it back from the dealership.
