Rear pre-cat (bank 1) alternative sources

As I am getting code P0420 with working O2 sensors and good fuel trims, it sounds like the days of my Bank 1 pre-cat are counted.

Did some searching and found that Magna Flow which I was having high hopes for is smaller and may be of mediocre quality. I am not looking to keep the car forever, but certainly do not want the pre-cat to fail prematurely.

And yes, I live in a fascist state with draconian emission test law, so unless I gut the pre-cat myself, which is as unlikely as pigs flying, no shop will agree to do that for me.

Other than going to the dealer, do I have any options?

Can those who gutted their pre-cats explain: is the car going to fail emissions with gutted pre-cats? I have never done that.

Not sure of gutting the precat but I got one off of ebay. It's working just fine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Firewall-Re...72.m2749.l2649

Wow, even made in Canada. Fun stuff.
May I ask you for how long did you have yours on and if you passed emissions no problem?

Tarzan, I have had mine in for about a month with no issues. I don't have emissions where I'm from. I have no check engine lights, car has plenty of power, and the cat comes with gaskets.

Do you have stock Y pipe? Did this pre-cat fit it fine?

Sorry for the late response, I have the stocker still. The cat fits it just fine.
