Maxima OEM Projectors
Maxima OEM Projectors
I have a 2007 Maxima SE with halogen headlights (9005 bulb). I have had a long term issue with poor headlight output. Driving at night - especially in the rain is a real bear. Recently I installed the PIAA Night Tech (9005) bulbs and those helped a little bit. Still not great. I did all the usual - checked the battery, ground, etc. I don't see any issues there.
The headlight lenses are perfectly clear on the outside - no oxidation. But I do notice that the actual projectors inside the housing are not clear. Now I know a lot of cars don't have perfectly clear projectors (by design due to the fresnel lens) - but I wonder if I have some sort of residue or build-up that is causing some of the loss of light output. When I look through the front lense, the projectors look real milky - that's the best analogy I can think of.
Just wondering if anyone with this same year Maxima (Halogen) can tell me if their projectors look frosty/milky or not? If you have HID headlights, I am not sure that's a valid test as the design is different most likely.
Thanks!

The lenses on the project is kinda milky so to say. they do make clear lenses. I would just upgrade to factory HID, just buy ballast with the ignitor and E55 projectors, they fit in the halogen housing.
