I bought an 04 Maxima se for pretty cheap but they couldn't find the key so a friend has had the same car sitting in his backyard for about a year now so I grabbed the ignition and the ecu out of that car and swapped it with the one in my car ( because he had a key to his). Now I know when you get a new ecu u have to have the keys programed by the dealer to the new ecu but I swapped then both together. My car will turn over but will not start almost like the immobilizer turned on. Any thoughts on what it could be?

So you did or didn't have them programmed? I had an issue with the immobilizer, I have same year and trim as yours. I just turn the key on the door over and over always helped me. Of course this isn't a permanent fix.

Do I need to have the ecu reprogrammed if it is the one that went to the ignition and keys I also swapped out the door locks. I forgot to mention. So I swapped out the old ignition ecu and door locks lcoks do they need to be reprogrammed if they all went together I just put then in a new car

No I didn't I wasn't aware that it would onset the NATS system. I hooked the code reader up to it last night and it's reading p1615 and p1610
