Hello,

I have an 04 maxima that recently developed some weird grinding noise. It sounds like it's coming from the front right of the car, so when I went under the car to check to see if something was grinding I couldn't really find anything wrong.
Also the noise only happens when I press down on the accelerator paddle, and the grinding noise only happens when it wants to but frequent enough for me to be annoyed.

Does anyone have an idea where this could be coming from?

 

What year and mileage?
Does it occur in park?

 

its a 2004 with about 260000 on it
and no it doesn't occur in park

 

I would check the front wheel bearing for noise and smoothness. You will need to jack the car up and rotate the tire, Also, shake it up and down and left and right.

 

Ok everyone I found the culprit.
It was apparently coming from a loose piping? Shield around the piping? For my exhaust right underneath the engine.
I just got a clamp and clamped it down and no more noise!
