Overheating when Hot outside

I have a 2007 Maxima with 135k miles and live in FL. Had radiator replaced back in 2016 due to vehicle overheating. As of recently, whenever I drive for longer than 20-30 minutes, in the afternoon heat, my car runs hotter than usual. Last weekend it got to the point of the yellow line, before the Hot line. I pulled over and let it cool down. Considering I replaced the radiator 5 years ago, and coolant level is not low, what would you suspect is the issue? I planned on replacing the thermostat and flushing the radiator. Any other recommendations? And do you think it’s necessary to replace radiator? Local mechanic wanted to charge me $800 for new radiator, thermostat, cap and flush! (Eye roll)

Probably the thermostat. I had a similar experience on multiple vqs where the temp would creep up to H only on freeway driving if was over 90F outside.
