how expensive is a DIY auto manual swap?

was considering a manual swap over an auto rebuild

People swap trannies all the time. It's easiest when swapping a stock auto for a manual for the same model/year car.

Add the third pedal, do some minor fabrication/cutting/hammering out, ECU change (I think) and that's pretty much it. I'm sure you can find in-depth guides on the Firebird forums.
