Broken Serpentine Belt

I knew the serpentine belt was bad on my 2005 Maxima and ordered the parts but the belt broke before they came in. The car died because of the battery, but my question is if I charge the battery can I get the car home (6 miles/10 minutes) without damage to something. From what I can tell the water pump is driven by the timing chain and if the battery has a fresh charge I think it can make it 10 minutes and I can live without the AC. I don't want to pay for a tow and would like to not do the repair where the car is. Is this OK or am I just asking for trouble? My daughter drove it for some amount of time without the belt so if there is damage what should I look for?

Thanks
