idk why they're so big, ive never liked them...i hate lexus too...i admit theyre nice...though they go overboard...i mean a car that car park itself....8 speeds?? who neeeds that manny!? ppl who can afford those cars drive at 20 mph, and they dont drive on the highway much...they fly instead .....

honda=fugly cars with bad trannys. the only thing about em is theyre stinking V-tec...acura...very nice cars...but i still prefer an infiniti....

nissan=shift! nissan's the shiiit

infiniti=incredibly designed cars...idk how they do it...but theyre doing a wonferful job...

All new 2009 Maxima

What have you guys heard? I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't do a search.

I have read that it will be "like nothing Nissan has done before".......whatever that means. They say it's still going to be FWD (no AWD dammit) with the VQ engine. I guess the styling is supposed to change dramatically and is supposed to resemble the new Mercedes C?

I did read that they are going to have a Deisel as well, that would be more powerful than the gas engine. That sounds cool.

Haven't seen any pictures yet. But its supposed to be the 2009 model. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything or seen or read anything more than what I have.

could not have said it better, but just to add to what you said about pricing, I travel to Atlanta on occasion and have seen that cars are optioned out way different then here in my home area of the northeast and in this area the V6 Altima is hard to find at Nissan dealers, with the current overlap of the Altima and Maxima, if you what a V6 Altima the dealers push you towards the Max so it will be nice to see 2 distinct cars and I look forward to the poor man's M45

Sketch of 2009 Maxima?

Hi all,

I just happened to see this "leaked" sketch this afternoon claiming to be of a 2009 Maxima... I know it's not a spy shot or anything, but it looks interesting.

http://www.autoincar.com/sketch-leak...r-coupe-sedan/

I wonder when we'll start to see actual photos?

It could look like anything.

First I looked at it and the rear looked like Altima, Then its felt too short so I thought a TL then I looked at the front and it resembles VW/Audi.

I guess we'll just have to continue waiting...

Its really hard to gauge how large Nissan is going to make the front wheel gap from this picture.

The lines look sharp and not very CLS type; I see a little Acura TL on the sides and a Camry rear. The nose looks more pronounced b/c I think it has to meet the new federal regulations on pedestrian safety, much like the new Accord has done. Pedestrians just need to learn to stay out of the road when traffic is moving.

True that, the only design it doesn't look like is a VW Bug, everything else is fair game...

I think if a pic was released it would be ALL OVER these boards, maybe you're thinking of the Intima concept posted awhile back...

Interesting, we'll have to see how this one pans out...

From what I heard, GT-R like front is pretty close; but the roof line is taller and trunk is longer like the Intima concept. This could be one of the first original sketches. NY auto show in March is the debut, but we should see some spy photos soon since I read they are a few road testing now.

sexy as hell...but they should rethink the door handles up front...since the rears don't have them they should probably put the handles somewhere else.

the tails remind me of an opel i saw in some other country.

and the side mirrors don't look as big as they should be.

could this sketch be fake? it doesn't look right...like the rear wheel well is all screwy

WTF is this? Nissan Intima? 2009 Maxima?

Not sure if any of you saw this yet.. but not really happy if this is what Nissan is aiming for for the 09 maxima . . .
and suicide rear doors? The side of the current maxima is already weak structure-wise...no B pillar = asking to die.

I severely doubt that is going to be in the production model. The front looks very infiniti. I would like to see nissan move to more model uniqueness. It seems they are going the way of mercedes and every car has just about the same front clip.

"The next Maxima will be more revolutionary," said Campbell, as compared with the recently released '08 Murano, a sales home run that was treated more carefully in its exterior reshaping.

unless he means the Diesel will be released late 2009, will the 6th Gen really go 1 more year?

I personally like the styling of the new maxima. It is great to see some more differences in models. As of late a lot of nissan front clips are starting to look the same...... Reminds me of mercedes benz in a not so good way. Not that they are bad cars but at firt glance it could be four different cars.

Ok so I was a little bored here on New Years day so I decided to start giving the above sketch of the supposed new Maxima a 3 dimensional look to give us some idea of how it might look, not finished yet but I though I wouls give all a look see.
