wow...hopefully some of the other guys that went on the trip to Nashville will speak with me here....but from what i can tell it looks like the Nissan people might have actually listened to and taken some of our advice about the commercials...wow....awesome!
Has anyone seen a Nissan corporate ad for the '09 Maxima on TV yet? I get all the Atlanta TV stations, and am within less than a hundred miles of 23 Nissan dealers, but am only seeing ads for Nissan in general (still showing the '08 Maxima), or for a specific vehicle such as the Altima or Rogue or Armada.
It may be that they are holding off on the '09 Maxima ads until most dealers have cleared their '08s, have built up an inventory of '09s, eager early birds have gotten theirs and Nissan senses the need to stir up more excitement about this '09.

FINALLY!!!! The new '09 Maxima on national TV prime time!!!
And what time is 'primer' than 9:50 PM and 10:10 PM during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics?!
Brought me right out of my Laz-e-Boy!. A Winter Frost Premium and a Super Black Sport, side by side, fighting for position on a curvy mountain road. Engines growling. Each fighting for position.
The ad then takes turns focusing on each; the sophistication and comfort of the Premium vs the cockpit and performance of the Sport. Back and forth. One, then the other. Lots of nice words.
Accompanied by very siprited and lively music, the ad then shows them merging into one glorious vehicle that is BOTH!
There will be folks dropping by their Nissan dealer tomorrow. The ad was that good.

Light, Great description of the ad! That was awesome, can't wait to get my Winter Frost Max now. The opening ceremonies were great, but that commercial was the hi-light for me!!! I understand Nissan is sponsoring Track and Field and most of those events are the second week. We should see this commerical several times over the next 2 weeks!
I really like this commercial, because it emphasizes the most important factor about the Maxima - It combines an active sports element with a classy luxury side, does it very well, and can be optioned to go even further in either direction. That is exactly what the 7th gen Maxima is all about.
I could have done without the 'lease' shill at the end, but I think they chose the best color for the Premium (Winter Frost) and the Sport (Super Black), as well as the scientifically logical best color for the 'combined' result (Precision Gray). They also used very appropriate terms to further define the best characteristics of the Premium and the Sport.
They told the whole Maxima story in twenty-five seconds, and had five seconds left over for the lease shill. And, as reb posted here earlier, the song chosen to accompany the ad was a most appropriate choice - 'Join Together' by The Who.
This is not an 'Awwww' heart-tugger type ad, or a catchy ad such as Budweiser sometimes comes up with. But this ad goes straight to the mission and purpose of the product, hits it hard, then stops. I give this ad an 'A' for design and an 'A minus' for execution. I feel it will accomplish what Nissan intended.

I think I do too. The nice thing is these '09 Maxima commercials are quick (30 seconds), and the music in catchy. I still wish the 'lease' blurb was not there. Leasing is not as big now as it was a year or two ago, and it breaks the rythym of the music.
