I think it's on your dash somewhere, look in your owner's manual.

If you didn't tint the windshield it shouldn't matter...

Mine come on everytime I go under a bridge or even a tree... open shade - not dark but no direct sunlight.

You should be able to change the sensitivity for the Auto On headlights.
My 04 has a bunch of setting using the info. screen (CD, Radio, Climate control etc.) You can make it more sensitive or less sensitive.

Only if you have NAV... non-NAV has to request dealer to change (at least in 6.5g)

Having the nav option with the 6.5 gen gives you a heck of a lot more options. It is why I got my '08 with it. I wonder if the '09 Maximas with nav have similar features that my '08 has. My '08 Maxima even has a screen that tells you the PSI of all 4 tires in real time. I love that feature!

jcalabria,

Isn't that the sensor for the automatic climate control? The sensor for the automatic headlights was always on the driver's side in previous Maximas. I guess Nissan changed them around.

That's what I thought too, but that is right out of the '09 manual, including the arrow. It would be easy enough to verify with an '09 at hand.

All ya gotta do is put something over the sensor and see if the lights come on... no (dis)assembly required.

I'm at the shop getting mine tinted right now, I'm getting 20 on all sides and 35 for the front & back.

These are the results of the Tints I got Saturday morning, sorry about the car looking dirty and the interior pic came out foggy because of the humidity outside.

Dealer did mine for Free

My Dealer did mine for Free

Well at least they did not charge me for it and I got the car for a little under MSRP plus they gave me a good wholesale trade-in value. They did hit me up $100 for Theft/Paint/Leather Protection (I'm not sure of the value on these protections).

BTW: The 19" Wheels look like junk

I want to buy some new rims; but No one at NISSAN can tell me what the 2009 Wheel OffSet is on the OEM wheel.

Does anyone know???

I don't want to have to pull the wheel and measure it myself.

the 19s do look a lil iffy. kinda like the last gen camry wheels if nobody has noticed. are you serious about the wheel issue?? Trophy nissan out here could tell you i bet. they have 7th gens sitting on display with 20s on it from TSW and they have nice Enkei wheels also that kind of looks like G35 19s.

Tinted 2 weeks ago

I put 55% on all of the windows because of the dark charcoal interior. PA police can be very **** in the pursuit of Tint Violators . Although the enforcement of a State Penn Dot policy is in direct violation of the Law that is currently on the books. It clearly states that, All windows must be Transperant and allow light into the vehicle. Nowhere in "PA Law" does it say that tinting a window in a vehicle is illegal. So if you put 5,15,20,35 or 50% on your vehicle it is still allowing some light in. If anyone else has had a experience with PA police involving tint let me know. Anyway the look is still awesome because of the contrast with the radiant silver.......

+50mm for both the 18" and 19" 09 Maxima wheels.

I have a Winter Frost premium. Tinted 25% on front and 15% around back. With the double black moonroof the car looks totally bad ***. Waiting on some 20" rims to complete the mod.

Im debating the percentage to go on my Max. Im thinkin anything under 35% is illegal anyways, I may just get 10% all around. We shall see though.

My AU/AD didn't work the first week, the passenger window did work. After using the AU/AD on the passenger window several times, the driver's side started working. You may try that, I'm not even sure that fixed it, but it may be worth a shot.

When you say several times, how many times are we really talking here? I tried this last night. Now the A/D works fine but the A/U still doesn't work (driver's door only)

Same issue I had. AU would not work on driver's window for at least a week.
Passenger side never failed to work, then driver's side just started working one day. ?
Let me know what the dealer says. My hasn't failed to AU/AD since.

QUICK QUESTION. HEY IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN RIDE HEIGHT BETWEEN THE BASE MAX AND THE SV MAX? BECAUSE THAT BLACK SV MAX LOOKS LOWER THAN MINES.

Nope. Exactly the same frame, tire size, wheels, suspension, struts, body, etc, on the S and SV. Moreover, except for the Maximas equipped with the 'Sport' package, exactly the same tire size, wheels, suspension, struts, etc are on every Maxima from the base entry S to the SV with Premium and Tech packages, with no variation in height, other than the extra weight of the double-panel roof might make the Maxima with Premium package ride a teensy bit (probably less than a quarter inch) lower.

Dark colored cars like this black Maxima are notoriously difficult to visually measure wheel gap on in photos, as the fenders, tires and gap are all very dark.

It's like the power sunroof... needs to be reinitialized.

From the '09 Owner's Manual:
If the windows do not close automatically
If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system.
  1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Close the door.
  3. Open the window more than halfway by operating the power window switch.
  4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch for more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely.
  5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
  6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows.
If the power window automatic function does not operate properly after performing the above procedure, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer.

Great info, jcalabria! I have never had this A/U problem, but if I had, I would not have been aware a reset was available for this situation. I will remember this, because I suspect we will have this 'problem' reported again here before long.
