fwiw you can make your own intake very cheaply and easily. don't wait for the after market to come through. same with headers etc.

Speaking of which goto a shop have them fab up you some nice headers have them make 3 sets. yeah it costs a bunch up front but sell em and make BANK + a free set of headers.

done deal.

you can make the after market don't wait for em.

YUP, surely. a 'sight to behold'.
Nooooooooo. everyone please, when I first bought my 6th Gen in 2003, we had jack sh*t mod wise. Most of the 5th gen and below community hated us back then and chose to mock us verse giving us any real sound advice (not all but most!!!). Well I'm here to give you some constructive advice. The 7th Gen is an awesome looking Max with Hugh potential, in many aspects she has crossed over to the M class. You have at least a year or two where more 7th Gen's will be seen on the street where you have to really worry about your Max being broken out from the rest.

The 7th Gen will be an awesome seller which means you will have more mods available faster than what we had to experience in the 6th Gen community. We came a long way by staying tight, strong, and working together as a community demanding more performance and quality products be produced.

We succeeded and now 6th gens have tons of quality products including a turbo kit!!! Please, the 7th Gen is a beautiful piece of work, this get quick ghetto mod sh*t is not modding, it may give you a false sense of you're better than the next 7th gen Max but from what I have seen, nothing is overly impressive. The real mods will come, in the mean time tint your windows, pick out quality rims, I do like the new chrome grills and wait for the real mods that will put your rides over the edge. Taping mods on your car will propel your car to a lower standard, just my .02

And God damn I love the 7th gen!!! Good luck my Maxima brothers!!!

Hahahahaha. I told you once he saw that stick on chrome crap, he'd HAVE TO comment.

I knew I could "bait" him into posting with that comment.

VERY NICE! From this angle, looks like your "woodwork" has a few nicks and dings. Tho this is NOT the right forum for it, you should see some of my toys.

If I get another car I want it to be more mod friendly. G37, 370Z or I may put my money where my mouth is and consider a GTR!!!

Since I saw your picture and you don't have one, am I to infer that people with afro's make the world dangerous?

out of curiosity chern what makes you think the new maxima will sell better and or faster than the 6th gens? granted it a better car in terms or performance, styling, etc. but considering our economic crisis i doubt they will sell mas well and likely even worse. nissan sales are down 30% this 1/4. and things are only getting worse. that being said people have even LESS money to spend on mods and would rather take care of their familt etc. this does not bod well for the new maxima and companies spending $ to protoype and design new suspensions, FI, etc.

for instance only 1 month ago was there a bolt on turbo kit for the 02-03 maximas. things take time and money...

anywho i was just curious what makes you think it will have aftermarket support faster than the 6th gens got.

LOL, your joking right!!!

My two older brothers had fro's in the 70's.............

If you people are so sensitive about the avatars Maxima.org has available you need to take it up with them. My family looks like a gathering of the United Nations so take that implied racist B/S and stuff it, hope I cleared that up for some of you. And Just for the record, I'm Hispanic!!!

Just a guess, the new Max is pretty hot but my comment has more to do if the economy had no say in the Market. If you sell more cars, more performance companies know the Market base is there, thus make more mods. More people can now afford a 6th or 6.5 Gen as more older gens get taken to the dump, so we are seeing more 6th gens mods available, the same trend may happen to the 7th gens if they turn out to be volume sellers. And I fully understand the issue of waiting for mods to come out, when I first bought my 6th Gen in August of 2003 the only mod for almost the first year was window tint, rain guards, you could change your rims and in the summer of 2004 Injen came out with a CAI, about a year later grills were starting to be made. Anyway it's just a guess, the economy does have an impact but that does not mean if things were different this car would have been a hot seller...

I guess the last thing one should do when already p/o'd is reply to something that may or may not have been meant to offend. Moving forward, without firsthand knowledge, no more assumptions on my part, and the benefit of the doubt shall be in favor of the poster. Having said that, I think some self monitoring is in order. There are frequent references throughout the forum to "Ghetto", "Hood" and other various terms used to negatively describe vehicles, accessories, and other things. Some of the comments do occassionally raise an eyebrow.

So, we've both had our say, I was wrong. I apologize. Hopefully some of I what I've said is taken as food for thought.

I have been checking www.lundinternational.com for '09 Maxima VentShades every week, with no luck yet. But VentShades for the '09 Murano suddenly appeared in their inventory last week, and I would bet shades for the '09 Maxima will be next.

Those guards enable me to open all four windows around three inches each when leaving the car in the blistering sun on a hot day and not have a sudden storm ruin everything inside.

I have also installed black rubber molding 1" wide and 1/2" thick around the edge of all four wheel wells on every vehicle I have owned for many decades. That greatly reduces the chance of dings on the fenders. I probably won't add these to the sides of the car (along the midsection of the doors), because that would break up the lines. I suppose most here realize the '09 Maxima is the very first Maxima ever made without the usual side molding. That strip had gotten so flat in recent generations it no longer served any protective purpose.

I will be installing small flat pieces of black rubber inside the bottom edge of the splash guards on my '09 Maxima, reaching down an additional inch, because the OEM splash guards don't reach more than an inch or so further down than the bottom of the fender.

But then most folks here are more interested in after-market headers than in protective measures . . .
I would be interested in seeing pictures of your additions. Thanks for sharing.

Hopefully mine will be here tomorrow. There are lots of 18-wheelers and dump trucks cruising the freeways here in Houston and I always seem to get stuck behind one!

little's07 - I have made the mods I listed on every one of my Maximas going back to 1984, but I have not bought my '09 yet, so have nothing to show. I would have had my '09 back in July, but my dealer had a $3600 'Market Adjustment' sticker added on at that time, and there was NO WAY . . .

By the time my dealer had come to his senses, my son and my neighbor had lost their jobs, and I sort of held off flashing a beautiful new vehicle in front of them.

But I have waited long enough. I plan to make a lowball offer (below invoice) on a winter frost SV with premium and tech packages the day after Christmas, when the dealers are desperate to make not only monthly sales totals, but also calendar year sales totals. Dealers will want to get everything possible off the lot at that time, because they have to pay an inventory tax on every vehicle not sold by the end of the year.

But thanks for asking.

Has anyone installed the Moonroof Wind Deflector??? I think there might be one under the Christmas Tree from Santa! I know I had it on a wish list somewhere and I think Santa (aka the wife) got it because I came home early and there was a Nissan box on the porch.....I promised not to peek but........maybe I peeked a little.

If you have it installed, how does it look? Does it flow with the lines of the car? Does it reduce the wind noise??? Just curious, if not then I guess I have to wait two weeks to find out!

I would also like to see what the moonroff deflector looks like on.
Part of me thinks that it makes the Max look less classy but having had one on my Alti I could be swayed.

Yes, I have the wind deflector. I don't mind the looks, but darn, you need 3 hands to install it....

I also have the "Nissan" branded nose mask. It was part of my original "deal". The hood piece is ok, the rest of it, well, I don't like it.

Fits tightly but you have to "pry" it in around some areas. With the 07/08, you replaced a few screws with snap screws and was a TON easier to install/remove. Sorry to say, I'm disappointed and less than impressed with it. Also, found a few "design defects" where they should have installed tabs but didn't, or installed on one side, but not the other. A "rush" job to put together.

When I get some free time, I'll gather up some more photos.

Thanks Compusmurf! Those just became available this week, because I have checked that site every Friday night for the last four months, and they were not there last Friday. I check on Friday evenings, because if a business hasn't posted a product by 5 PM Friday, it usually won't be posted before the following Tuesday.

During the past few months, I have looked closer at the tops of the doors of this '09, and understand why there was a delay in producing these vent shades. It isn't easy to decide exactly how to approach vents for this car. From the photo, it looks like the decision is to stick them on the outside (as contrasted with inserting them in the glass channels of the window). This was the type chosen for the 6th gen also, and they worked very well.

At least these are the nice 'smoke' type rather than the chrome type that has proliferated in this company's vent shade line in recent years.

Now I have to look at these shades, stand near the car several times visualizing the effect, and decide if the immense usefulness of vent shades in this miserably hot climate offsets the sacrifice of sleek, clean styling sometimes involved with vent shades.

Thanks for the catch!

I'll be buying them if I can find anywhere that has them in stock. I don't see where you can order from the site, unless I missed it.

I'm a bit further south than you.... I'll sacrifice a bit of styling for the extra comfort. I've "sacrificed" on every car I've ever owned....
