Rims on their 7th Gen Max MEGA Thread!

I will be purchasing a set of aftermarket custom Rims for my 09 Max for a possible birthday gift (next sunday...heheh getting old) or early Christmas gift to myself and I wanted to see different options the rest of you may have already installed on your 09 ride!!! There is not much for rim shops here in Missorui so all I have is the internet for options, I will be looking at a bunch of places on my trip to San Antonio next week, there are a ton of places in TEXAS that was my old stomping grounds and there is a rim shop on almost every corner!!!!

I am not much for a ton of bling but I do want a dish rim with a chrome lip and brushed silver inset for a clean look on Dark Slate Max, I want as much open rim space with only four or five split spoke set up, here are two rims that I have my eye on but are on the expensive side I wanted to stay at or around the $2500 arena but these two rims are above $3000 for rims and tires. I will be bumping up a inch from my 19X8 OEM nissan setup to a 20X8.5 setup all around:

HERE IS THE FIRST PLACE RIM: MOZ MODENA

AND HERE IS THE SECOND PLACE RIM I AM LOOKING AT: AM PRIME FORGED

Can't Wait to upgrade!!!!

I think the second rim will look hotter, it just appears to look cleaner and classier IMO and I look forward to seeing your Max when you get them bad babies on it. Please post the pics when you get it done.

Thanks for sharing.

PS: When you get a chance please check my thread on here about Rims.

I like them both soooo much but they are both soooooo expensive.....Why can't they be on the lower end????? As I was browsing through the internet these are the only two that stood out and then I looked up the prices and almost had a heart attack.....my wife just says I have expensive taste is all!

I like the top one better!
I had the windows on my 09 Max (Precision Gray, Sport/Tech Package) tinted last weekend.

The place that I took it to also sold Rims.
Got pretty tempted, but I think that I'll wait until my stock tires are worn out.
I commute about 70 miles everyday, so maybe sometime next year... e.

Well I plan on keeping my stock rims on for the winter here in Missouri all the ICE and I will put the nice rims on for the Summer Months, I may have to rethink my plans though I can 't find those rims shipped mounted balanced TPMS and the whole nine for under $5,000!!!

Yup that's right I said it $5K. I called the actuall manufacturer MOZ Luxury rims in California and they custom make the rims to fit and ship out in 2-4 weeks to your residence or to a dealership in your local area for mounting. They are a multi-piece rim which apparently are the most expensive type of rims to purchase.

I can't see spending that much on a set of rims, my threshold sits at the $2500 arena for rims and tires, mounting and balancing the whole enchilada......The saga will continue for sure!

Going a different route!!!!

Well after the sticker shock of the first two rims and tons of internet searching and calling of different rim companies I have again narrowed it down to two rims!!!!!!

I will be making the final decision tomorrow afternoon and will be ordering one of the two following set of rims and tires. My whole goal was to get a 20" five split spoke rim with a brushed or hypersilver center and a chrome or mirror lip rim with a lot of open wheel space for a clean look. The first two rims of the MOZ Modena and the AM Forged both met that criteria but was well above $4000 for the whole setup of rims/tires/TPMS and shipped!

Here are the next contestants!!!!

Number one is the 20x9 Vossen VSS 078 RIM:

Number two is the TSW Jarama 20x8.5

I will be posting pics as soon as they arrive and are installed on my baby!

How Much?

You can't go wrong with either one of those. Both are sweet. How much are we talking about?

The cost is nearly half of what the other two were, the MOZ Modena total cost was $5400, the AM Prime Forged was $4800......not going to happen!

But now the Vossen VS078 Rims tires mounted and shipped $2230 and the TSW Jarama Rims/Tires/TPMS Mounted and shipped $2132. I am the middle of the decision process as we speak and will have new rims on the way at the end of today!

I FINALLY DID IT!!!

I FINALLY DID IT....after the late nights and long hours of searching the internet and looking at thousands of different rim and tire combinations I got the rims I wanted......now I just have to wait!!! They will be here by next Friday.

I ordered the VOSSEN VVS078 20x9 Machine Black rims wrapped in FALKEN FK-452 255/35/20! These rims have a 2 1/2 chrome lip all around and will give my 09 Max a much more aggressive stance!!! The wheels will come mounted and balanced with lug nuts, wheel locks, hub rings and TPMS all ready to be installed on my vehicle straight out the box all for $2338! I will definitely upload pictures once they are here......now I just have to be paitient!

Once again here they are:

Congrats, choice89! I like your taste. Very nice! And at a bearable price. Falken makes a good tire.

I look forward to your pics in a week or so.

Sorry Man,
I don't know of anyone selling their stock setup, I know I am keeping my stock 19" for that specific reason......the funny thing is I was initially going to wait untill after winter to purchase a set of rims because we are so close to it becoming crappy here in MO with snow and ice, but I could not pass up the deal I was getting, because it is close to the end of the year the dealer was willing to work with me and make the best deal with a very nice military discount on top of that I just had to do it. I will probably only have the new rims on my MAX for a month or so and then I will have to put the stock rims right back on for the duration of the winter.

I think LEXANI makes good looking rims and they are famous for over the top chrome, but those are not that bad. Not for me, I am just not sure how they would look on the MAX.

I have had rims before with the plastic center cap and on both sets even with taking great care of them I lost two of the center pieces, it looks aweful and in both cases both rims were eventually phased out and I could not find a new replacement anywhere. So I now look for rims that don't have the plastic center covers I want the exposed bolt look so I don't have to deal with lost covers.

I defintely like the your first choice no doubt! It looks very classy and would probably sit real nice on the MAX. The only thing I don't like about them is that they have the plastic center cap piece. I have had rims in the past where the cap cracked and eventually fell off while I was driving and then I went to look for replacements and those rims were phased out and I could not get a hold of any. Other than that I still think they are nice.
