Found My Baby On Blocks - This F***ing Sucks
WTF is that supposed to mean? Because he worked hard and chose to live in a gated community he can "afford" to have his **** stolen?
VQ, I hope that's not what you were insinuating by your comments. If it was, you know karma is a b**ch my friend and will always dial your number when you least suspect it.

1) you have a garage and should be using it. i never park my car outside overnight. Gated communities are easy targets fwiw because everyone thinks they are safe. however it shouldn't take long to figure out whose number was used to open the front gate unless they of course scaled the wall...
2) your fenders look fine better pics of the damage?
3) the good news is your insurance company is going to cut you a big check for em. now go buy after markets. 4 new 18s and 4 tires from nissan will be well over 2k maybe even 3k. you can get some nice rims now and some AM goodies now. look on the bright side.
4) your fees you pay for the association arn't only for the gates which you obviously know.
5) whoever said the association should pay him money, and for him not to pay untill they do for the theft of his wheels has no idea how the world works. let alone a gated community. his car is insured. there is no gated community in the world which will guarantee no theft or property damage.
6) i guarantee the person who robbed you has been in the community multiple times before. they probably know someone in there and scoped out a few cars when they were there before. told their boys, and wham-o.

I agree with all six of Torgus' points. I look forward to pics of fender damage. It appears you moved the supports away from the fenders and to the rocker panel/frame area. Does your compound record the codes used to open the gates? As Torgus said, the Homeowners Assoc would never cover this type loss; this is strictly for your car insurance company. I will not risk being banned here by suggesting you purchase a gun . . . but then maybe I sort of suggested just that by bringing up the subject of guns.
soo sorry..but like someone said your ins will give you enough money to buy some nice after market wheels. and park the 7 series and the maxima in the garage if you can. im suprised they didnt touch the bimmer.
arent car alarms suppose to go off when something like this is happening?(assuming you have one bcus you have a 7th gen)

money has nothing to do with the situation, it's the principle. sorry to hear about the loss man
You have a garage, just incase you didn't notice. But seriously you need wheel locks or else this will keep happening to you.
Been there, done that.

yea, you got the extra money from working hard, so who cares go buy another set...maybe leave the keys in the ignition next time and if they steal your car, who cares...you got money

2. Of course association fees are more than security, saying I should stop paying the fees was blowing off steam, and I had lots to blow off. And as Torgus noted it was probably an inside job. Quite a few teenagers in the neighborhood.
3. It's not a money issue. It's the principle. The sense of violation associated with being victimized where you live. A few years back I had a smash & grab happen at the gym. They got inside the car opened the trunk and made off with a few things, it sucked bigtime. But when it happens it at home it takes it to a whole new level.
4. The pics I posted were from my phone, I'll try to post some close ups of the fenders I took with a camera. The problem is at the fender/door seam. The fenders are bowed out past the door.
5. I have to say that I'm surprised my alarm didn't go off too. But they got a 2008 Escalade with AM 22's and wheel locks and Dodge Magnum with AM 20's. Both had alarms. None of the alarms went off. I guess the standard alarms on new cars require an attempt to enter the vehicle, or major impact to trigger them. These guys were quiet. Of the 3 houses they hit know one heard anything. I'll test mine when I get the car back. But I will probably install an AM alarm
6. Yeah the insurance will pay (minus my deductible), but who wants that hassel. I was looking at AM wheels prior to this, but WTF, why bother now. This left a serious bad taste and I don't want anything now that attracts undo attention.
7. There are more desirable cars in the community than mine. So I never thought twice about leaving my cars in the driveway. Plus I leave early occassionally and the garage door opening wakes the wife. Anyway no more Mr. Considerate in the garage they go.
8. Thanks to all for the kind words. Hopefully I won't be without it too long.

There was a guy yesterday or the day before, asking about someone trying to sell them new '09 Max tires/wheels, and they looked like the ones in your sig. I can't find that post anymore however.....in was in the the 5th Gen forum.
Man there's some Dumb *** criminals in this world. why would someone take some factory wheels and how could all this happen overnight with no noise (but it happend) in a quiet gated community. somebody saw something AND HEARD i know. 3 times somebody had to. it just makes me upset when you work hard for something and somebody comes F it up.

, and I guess I have been rubbed the wrong way by too many people who think that if someone has money they have no right to feel upset or violated because they have money to make it betterback on topic tho...hopefully they guy who hit your neighborhood will end up getting caught. and if they don't get caught, they will get their judgment in the end
Don't most Maximas, Altimas, Z's and Infiniti autos have the same bolt patterns, and similiarish offsets?
I respect the other members that recommend wheel locks and alarms, but neither have saved my cars in the past. My wife's Max was stripped with a top of the line Viper alarm. Cops reported that many cars with alarms were disabled in the same area. They believe that the $#!%s used scanners to defeat the systems. Apparently they only had to catch the Viper's code's twice in a row to guess the next rolling sequence.
I work for a high-tec Industrial Security company and we just heard that certain "students" have found a similar method for compromising the Intelligent Keys that NIssan uses and the Esso pay-pass radio token that I use to buy gas.
I guess I have to park the Max's and the G35 in the garage and then brick it up to stay really safe.

All of this reminds me of the situation with headlights on the previous generation when it first came out. Let's hope this wheel thing subsides after a while like that did. Most dealers in my area have recently started including wheel locks as part of their deal, but after reading this I'm not sure if it even matters.
There might be a demand for 7th gen rims out there but all in all, Radsil09 sorry for what happened to your ride and hope you get shoes back to your new Max and check with Nissan about that alarm, its scary it didn't go off. Do you have a dog? coz my German Shepard will not let any little noise go unnoticed and they must have made some sounds chucking off 4 wheels. And also i suspect an inside job here too, somebody must have known something 4 cars in a gated community is not guesswork. I'll start shopping for wheel locks too as i don't have them. Good Luck!
Dang that sucks, I know from a previous friend that if a bmw is locked and you try jacking it up the alarm goes off.. or at least it did on his. Surprised the same didn't happen for your car?I'm not too sure if the same goes for maximas?
Ouch sorry to hear. Thanks for the Gorilla lock info, def gonna purchase a set. (already have locking lugs, but those look way better)
Take everyones advice, buy some nice am rims and tires and put your car in the garage.

How they defeat the alarm
(lets not give anyone ideas...)

You're Right
You're absolutely right. It could have been worse. However, it's only once the initial shock wears off that one's rational thoughts return. By the way, the day it happened I had to buy a car cover. Could'nt take looking at. Blood pressure shot up everytime I looked out the window. LOL.
Yeah, I noticed while we were staying at my in-laws house. Their cars got broken into and I was missing a wheel lug nut from my passenger side wheel. I dont know if someone spooked them or they figured getting the tuner lugs out of those small holes wouldve been too hard or what but I know that feeling. Just the fact that someone attempted to steal my rims was scarey enough. We just got a house so guess where my car is going... the garage.
Radsil09-definitely look into whether or not there are cameras at the gate that record people coming in and out. To punch in a code means you have to roll the windows down and it is possible they have a picture of the scumbag thieves on tape.
Personally, if I had caught those lowlifes, I would have shot them. Totally legal here in Texas with the new castle law. You can use deadly force to protect your property.
Wheel locks will help and if you don't go with stock wheels, go with a simple aftermarket design that isn't flashy. Thieves can get around wheel locks if they ever worked for a wheel/tire store or if they carry liquid nitrogen with them-they can freeze the lugs and studs cold enough a quick rap with a hammer shatters the studs. Not only do you need new wheels and tires but new studs too.
