Foglights look good, now get the shameless dealer advertisements off that car. I had my car dealer decal debadged before I would accept the keys from the salesperson.

Is it?

Here is a guy selling OEM fog lamps on ebay for much cheaper than the dealer.

well honestly there isnt a good place to mount em but where mine are is in the bumper underneath the grille... place ur hand in the grille n put ur fingers underneath there is an opening i have it there with double sided tape also strapped down so if the tape doesnt work will sstill have support... but other then that there really isnt any good place to mount the ballast because there will be places where you will get a lil water or major water possible causes of your hids to die out or wa not...

Priorities mixed up

Little physics lesson: blue light scatters to a greater extent than longer wavelengths.

So why is more emphasis being placed on color-matching the fogs to slightly blue-tinged headlights when the times that you would find the fogs most useful are the times when the light scatter would be worst? Other than for trailered show cars, why would you want to let "pretty" overrule function?

As far as I know, the foglight kit comes with a new turn signal switch to replace the old one. As least that's how I did it on my 95 Max GLE.

Some idiot shot out one of my foglights, I went to Nissan Parts Dept to find out how much a replacement would cost and they said it was $225, WOW, ridiculous.

So I guess I'll be shopping at Ebay

You're asking this in a forum where people are tinting windshields and headlights?

Can anyone who's done an HID conversion on the fogs recommend a brand that works well - or warn us about one that doesn't?

www.vvme.com is a ridiculously cheap HID kit company. Bought it for my 300zx over a year ago and they were still working when I sold it.

The kit I purchased for my Altima came with a new headlight stalk that had the fog light switch. Worked without any other modifications. They even worked with the parking lights which factory installed lights did not.

not reading this entire thread, but i hope you guys realize that they are halogen for a reason.

HID and white light refracts when it hits moisture aka fog or rain.

therefore disperses and is useless. matching the bulbs to match is one thing, but you must realize you no longer have fog lights. many like myself have replaced them with yellow bulbs which cuts through the moisture AND looks good.

now since something with the 6th gens... wiring? makes all bulbs die quickly, we have also changed to HID kits... but I still use Yellow bulbs since white and higher colors are indeed worthless for inclimate conditions.

Hey guys, I have a 2010 S and purchased a pair of "replacement" fog lights off of eBay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_1147wt_941 ) for about $200. They look just like oem fogs so I hope they work fine. I also ordered the combo switch from mynissanparts.com for about $50, which should arrive any day now. I'll let you guys know how everything worked when I install them.

Update: So I got one of the dealer techs to install the fogs yesterday, and they look GREAT!!! It took him about 30 mins to pop-off the plastic covers, install the fogs, and switch out the combo switch on the steering wheel (thankfully the car was already wired). The eBay fogs were DEPO brand and looks just like the OEM fogs when installed. I'm pretty happy with the upgrade.

Does the maxima S even come with projectors? I thought just the sport and premium had projectors b/c of the D2S xeon bulbs, and those have to be SV. I guess if someone wanted HID's bad enough in the S they could have a Xeon upgrade from the factory which would give you the projector "Ball" style headlight housings. Then again if your going to pay extra for that from the factory would you change them to a 1000k? Why pay factory upgrade prices when ur going to change them anyway because your not satisfied the "factory upgrade" 4300k?

I would not recommend installing hid's, if installed incorrectly you might be driving around blinding everyone and regulations in your region might be enforced by your locality.

I dont think it's bad enough for the law to get involved but I do somewhat agree. I would like to find projector ***** for the fogs to focus them directly on the ground. Atleast that way they are still bright for driving but doesn't look like the fogs are brighter that the headlights to someone outside the vehical. I have 6000k hid's in my fogs and have ordered 6000k D2S bulbs for the headlights because the 6000k fogs tend to make the 4300k headlights look more like halogen bulbs when both are on.
