JD Powers' Most Loved "Large" Car
Thought you 7th genners might like to see this. It was good to see a Max in there:

Hope you're enjoying your ride- it's a great car!

I drove a 5th gen SE for five years, and absolutely loved it. Never had a problem the entire five years. Really hurt to part with that car.
BUT
The 5th gen was yesterday's car. The 7th gen is today's car. I find my '09 Maxima has the edge over my 5th gen in virtually every way a car can be measured.
Of course the '09 you drove as a rental was the base 'S'. There is a VAST difference (many dozens of things) in the appointments of an 'S' as compared with an 'SV' with Premium and Technology packages.
I suppose everyone has their own way of evaluating things.

Now, now! We already have enough trouble trying to figure out exactly where the Maxima fits into various rating systems. In some ways, it doesn't fit anywhere. We all know it is a stretch to call the Maxima a 'large' car. But it isn't a compact either. Maybe the use of the term 'large' was reached by including the price in the equation? At least the same question of 'large' might also be applied to the cars that finished second and third in this survey.
