Owners seem to love their 09 Maximas...
On the Strategic Vision survey for 2009, Maxima owners love their car more than some owners of Avalons, TLs, G8s, G37s, and others. The survey for this year isn't over yet, do you guys think the 09 Max will hold up? I think so, I love mine

Of course its better than all of those cars. The people that bought those cars spend close to double the amount of the maxima and got pretty much all the features that you can get in the Maxima not to mention Less Coast in Insurance and Better MPG then they realized this as well and though damn y didn't I get a Maxima?? lol

You know you love your car when you are a stingy tightwad who hangs onto every penny, buys only things at the grocery that are on sale AND for which you have a coupon, AND only buy them on senior discount day, yet find every excuse in the book to just keep driving your '09 Maxima around with a silly grin on your face, not wanting to go home and park the car.
I could continue this, but it is time to head back to the garage and look at my baby again.

The best one yet.
This MAX is the best. I've had 94, 97, 97 and 2002 MAX prior to this one. Traded in the 02 to buy the 09. The 02 (5th gen) was a very good design. Even at ~100K miles it was a fun car to drive.
The new one blows the tires off of the old one.
The only issue that I've noticed is a little pull to the right. Don’t know yet if this is a “normal” torque steer or an alignment issue. The 02 had a similar pull problem and I couldn’t get it fully fixed even after doing the lemon law on the Nissan. They’ve got it to the point that it was marginally better, but not completely balanced.

If this little pull lasts only for a few seconds while you are doing strong acceleration in a turn, it is torque steer. In any other situation, a pull is almost always tied to alignment/wheels/tires.
Of course some of those cars are very fine vehicles. But we all have different needs and tastes in cars. Those cars will be just right for some folks. But when it comes to combining affordability, reliability, styling, room, power, handling, image, fun, individuality, options, etc, the Maxima has the whole package. Each of those other vehicles falls short in one or more areas.
True! and then they end up bashing their own cars in surveys and studies cuz they wish they had a maxima. my friend was thinking of buying a maxima about a month ago when he saw mine, but he also compared it and test drove a genesis, I told him that maybe when he's 80 and likes to play golf all day he should get it, but he didnt listen to me and ended up getting the genesis about 2 weeks ago, and about 2 days ago he told me he wish he wouldve taken my advice and that he was getting rid of it, I b*slapped him of course!

It really is crazy how far Hyundai has come in such a short span. The killers were gas millage, RWD only, and the fact that the local dealers just weren't willing to deal on the car, and there were no incentives at the time. Had there been a couple of grand back, an invoice minus rebate deal might have been enough to sway me. I do love my Max, but I'm wondering how much I'll be loving it after I go through the strut recall debacle. Hopefully Nissan treats me (and others) OK and wraps it up quickly!
Its the the best car we've owned.
I call it the Rocket .
I got to Buffalo from Bosotn in 5 .5 hours, 425 miles.
It was a blast
On the way back a guy in a little BMW tried to take me out of the toll booth , smoked him !!
Haha
Great ride too bad it is my wifes car.

MadMax is the name of my beauty
killakam How do you know he was doing 90? You got a radar dectector in your car?
So true, so true!!!
Especially if you have the tech package. It feels just like driving the batmobile. I am still reading the manual on the navigation system.
It took me 2 days to figure out how to change the channel on the XM radio (I never had XM radio before). And the dealer has set all the XM presets to the XM preview channel 1.

Joking aside, we shouldn't be discussing how we are travelling above and beyond the posted speed limit.
Not for nothing.....I get at least 2 compliments a week on the car...Some people ask what it is and for the money I think the Maxima is def best looking!.....I'm more and more happier with the car everyday, but living in New Jersey you can't have anything nice so eventually my car will be all banged up by inconsiderate A Holes in my area.

Maxima base price: $30,460, fully loaded $39,670
Avalon base price: $27,945, fully loaded $41,395
G8 GT base price: $31,755, fully loaded $35,255
TL base price: $35,105, fully loaded $44,325
G37 base price: $33,250, fully loaded $41,780
Those look pretty comparable in price to me. And I doubt the maxima is cheaper on insurance than the avalon or TL. The maxima is a good car, but please let's stop saying things when we don't know what we're talking about. That said, I'd get a maxima before I got an avalon, G8 or TL...

I bet you can. Right after the news of Pontiac's demise, my Nissan dealer got a G8 GT fully loaded with like 8k miles on it. They wanted $20k for it. I'm not gonna lie that I was tempted. Love my max too much tho.
And yeah I've definitely seen the GTs going for under $30k off the lot, but I doubt there are many left.
I like the G8, but I felt tiny inside of it (and I'm 6'1")...the interior is enormous. My maxima is about as big as I want a car to be. The maxima interior feels a lot tighter and overall it just connects you with the car more IMO.

The G8 is not nearly as refined as the Maxima, and its styling screamed '1980s hot rod' to me. I would never consider the G8 at any price.
I'm old enough to get away with driving an Avalon, which is a smooth, comfortable, dependable ride. The major downside with the Avalon for me is that my kids would laugh at it. They say an Avalon 'sends the wrong message', whatever that means.
The TL looks really bad from the front, and even my TL-driving son feels the TL has gone downhill. I think he was negatively influenced by having gone through three transmissions in his TL Type 'S'.
Early Gs always seemed very cramped, front and rear, to me. But now, the G37 seems not quite as cramped, and is a decent looking, dependable car. If I were a RWD fan, I could be very tempted by a G37, even though it is a few thousand bucks more expensive than the Maxima.
Overall, the Maxima is easily still the best combination of styling, options and price for me. But others will have different preferences.

I agree the maxima is a badass car and I'd take it over those listed in an instant (well, besides the G. lol). But my money will be going to a RWD car. I caught the RWD bug when I bought my bimmer :P The maxima will eventually be traded in on a low mileage E39 M5 and I'll still be really sad to see it go. But right now I'm enjoying having no car payment

If you need me to get quotes on all of these cars compared to the Maxima I have no problem doing that.. I don't like it when ppl need to make smart comments. Its common sense that those cars are much more expensive and higher quality causing the prices of insurance to go up.
Because before I floored it and pass him out I caught up to him side by side and my speed red 90 so obviously if I was going 90 and we were both in the same spot for a few seconds before I punched it then he was going 90. Doesn't that make sense?
Ok well the insurance on the G8, TL, and G37 is defiantly higher doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. The G8 is a RWD sports car the Maxima is a front wheel drive and doesn't have the same amount of HP as the G8. The TL is a high class luxury sports car and I'm sure that the insurance is more expensive. If it was an Accord then I can see where your coming from but its not its Acura. Thats like saying the G35 and Altima coast the same amount for insurance... They just dont they are both different cars and coast more. The G37 is defiantly more expensive as it is either AWD or RWD and a 2-4 door with much more HP than the Maxima.

Ok well w/o proof of insurance difference you can't rest any type of case cause my theory makes more sense than your theory of how much the coast of the car is. If someone buys a Truck the insurance coasts more than it would on a honda to say. So a Maxima compared to a G37 and or a Acura TL have no comparison; they are two different type of classes.
