My new 2010 Maxima(Pics)
After test driving the car I bought it. The car is amazing. She is dirty now, but when the weather change she will look totally different. Updates will come soon.

Beautiful! I wouldn't change a thing. I'm glad you avoided the dark upholstery, as that gets so hot in the summer it will put third degree burns on your thighs if you have on shorts.
I learned my lesson with dark upholstery in my '49 Studebaker sixty years ago, and will never make that mistake again. Dark upholstery is for teens and younger folks who don't yet understand the long-time magic of a black interior has waned. Lighter interior colors are now generally considered (especially by most folks over age 30) as not only more practical in hot climates, but more upscale.
But there will always be some fans of very dark interiors.

Personally, I still like the charcoal interior. Especially with the "climate controlled" seat!!! But I have to admit that is one pretty Max regardless...I'm not so sure I wouldn't have picked that out if I would have seen it at my dealer. Congrats!

While it is a matter of preference or taste, I believe the dark is more preferred than the light colored leather interior in most applications when we go across the board with all car manufacturers.
That is why presidential cars, truck, suv, and limos all have black leather interiors. Most other high end cars like Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac, Lincoln, Hummer, just to name a few, carry mostly black leather in all their cars.
So, if most car companies prefer the black leather over the light leather, I will say black leather is more professional, more formal and definitely more upscale.
But when it comes to the heat in the summer, I can't tell the difference. Maybe because of my different skin color compared to yours. But before my Max, I owned a 03 Camry SE with Toyota's premium perforated tan sporty leather. I got the same heat as I am getting now on my black leather in my 08 Maxima SE.

I respectfully disagree, since I am a fan of very dark interiors.

that is definitly a personal preference. for me i would never buy a car that is not black/black!!! but that is just me. Im glad there are other choices for other, so mine stands out a bit more
but the new max is a great car, no matter what combo you get. I would say its the best car for the money

I'm with you there. I would much rather have a dark interior than a light one. One problem I noticed with light interiors is for people who like to wear jeans. The interior in my '95 Maxima was a light color and my blue jeans managed to stain the seat slightly. Since then, I will not buy a car with a lightly colored interior.
This is exactly one of the reasons why I also prefer to stay away from lighter color interiors. Since I have an 03 Glacier Pearl Maxima and Charcoal Interior was not an option, I went with the Frost Leather Interior and I have not had a problem luckily. But I also have an Acura TL with Black Leather and what I can say from my experience is that lighter interiors are just harder to keep clean. It's not bad if you have a lighter color interior, it's just a personal preference.
If I would have gotten Beige Leather in my Acura, I could have got this problem:

I prefer lighter colors, they are considered higher end and this is the exact reason. It's impossible to hide imperfections, dirt, burns, holes etc.

Yep this picture brings back fond memories of Honda/Acura and my experiences with their awful quality control regarding the leather. As you know this has nothing to do with the seat color and frankly I'd rather see the issue then to try and hide it with a darker color.

The choice of a black tuxedo for formal events, black color for most presidential cars around the world, and matched by a black leather interior, DEFINITELY tells me darker interiors are considerd HIGHER END.
And to top it off, I drive a Max with a black interior, hence, I conclude, black is definitely higher end! Hence, when you go black, you never go back!

Just like MaxLoverAz said, we will have to agree to disagre. That sums it up.
Black, beige or whatever you choose or happen to buy because of other options available on the ride, it is all good. Just personal preference.

I see you've already installed your sunroof visor. I would have adviced you not to do that. This is a very classy car and shouldn't have a sunroof visor. Have you looked at BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Audi, cadillac? All these classy cars DO NOT HAVE SUNROOF VISORS. If you find any with a visor, it is one in like 50! Basically, I just mean it is very rare. I don't know why they choose not to have visors, but without the visors, these cars still maintain their class and intergrity. Something the 7thgen has.
The 7thgen is a class on its own and I think it looks better without a visor on it. Just make sure you put your spoiler on.

You Lost me on the 18s qeustion?? As for the sun roof visor ride down the roa without one for a while. The rumble will kill your ears..This car is classy either way.The spoiler is installed and looks awesome..My Max is not tryin to be a BMW (overpriced Maintenance)or lexus or anything but a Nissan Maxima.I have visors on my 2002 and my 2010.I like them so I put the SUNROOF VISOR ON..As you put it in your post..Thanks
