I drive a lot of miles, mainly highway. I am approaching 10k miles. I have read about the differences in types and kinds of oils. I plan on either using Amsoil SSO & EaO filter for 10k intervals or Ester oil & OEM filter for 7.5k intervals as using regular dino at a lesser interval would entail changing oil almost every 6 weeks. What would you guys recommend?

I have the following questions:

Has anyone had a UOA done on ester? If so, please provide a link so I could see.

The schedule 2 maintenance plan is similar to my driving habits. It suggests OCI at 7,500 miles. Would you believe that this would conclude that the Ester oil & OEM filter is capable of performing for this length of time? Ideally, I would use Ester & OEM filter for 10k, but I am not sure that this is feasible!

I just extracted my sample of Ester oil this evening, sending to Blackstone Labs tomorrow morning. This will be at 4,750 miles on the ester oil, anxious to see what the TBN is and how it compares to Amsoil SSO. I'll post the results as soon as I get them for all to read.
