No government agency would. Any time you see a foreign car, especially an upscale one, working traffic or undercover, you are looking at a car that was most probably taken by law enforcement during a drug bust.

Among other vehicles, my local sheriff's department uses a PT Cruiser, two Mustangs, a Quest, an Accord and a Mini-Cooper, all painted out in sheriff's department colors. Except for special purpose vehicles (such as prisoner vans, etc), the only vehicles they actually pay money for are Crown Vics and Chargers.

Because I knew you probably couldn't resist, and that I'd get exactly that kind of response out of you.

We've got Mustang GTs in the pursuit fleet here in Nashville. They look pretty cool all lit up.

The next town over has a skittle blue Jeep Patriot on huge chrome rims.

Aside from that, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary from our PD.

In thinking back, I remember seeing on some TV crime show several years back that the South Carolina Highway Patrol has a 'high speed pursuit' version of the Mustang they had built-to-order. I seem to recall they could glide along at around 175 MPH.

So what's the purpose of you having the intent to start an arguement? If I'm not mistaken, arent you the one that said that type of thing is "pointless". I would have to agree with you on that. Pointless

Very contradicting statements you make sir.

No hard feelings but can you please keep this thread about cop cars and related posts only. Let the petty stuff die.

Nothing odd in my PD or anywhere around. Closets thing would be NJ with unmarked and blacked out Charger cop cars, almost found that out the hard way haha the dude like wiped into traffic from the on ramp and ran up on me. I was about to brake check him when he flew around me and turned on his lights and pulled over a car

But supposedly there is a blacked out STi cop car in my area, but I've never seen it. Could be a rumor.

The craziest thing we get over here for undercover cop cars is an unmarked Grand Caravan with photo radar tucked away inside it. Otherwise its just your usual Crown Vics. Normal cop cars are chargers, ford escapes and crown vics.

I brake check cops all the time. There's nothing illegal about it at all.

Cops around here like to ride your *** late at night hoping to get you to speed up. I just lay on the brakes instead. Hey, if a cop piles into the rear end of my car, there isn't a thing they can do. As far as the state's concerned, they'll be buying me a new car.

Some states have a more serious speeder issue, especially here in AZ. We have a lot of exotics racing from San Diego to Scottsdale and back a lot... We had Z28 Interceptors many years ago. Here is a car from Haltom, City, TX (Just outside of Ft. Worth)

I got nailed the very first day I owned the car for over $600 of speeding citation by an unmarked Charger RT. Lucky for me, he was so surprised to find a speeder that it took him quite a moment to get the laser on me. I was able to slow over 40mph before he clocked me at 83 in a 40... I was doing well over 120mph, trying to get to my 8.5 month pregnant wife who thought she was going into labor, and I was on country backroads (long and straight here in Brooksville), and he wouldn't even cut me a break. I don't know if he thought I was B/S'ing him, or what, but we went to the hospital only to find out she was only a "fingertip" dilated, and the contractions were too far apart still (our first child) - so a scare, a rush, a $614 citation, a $250 atty fee, and a mandatory court appearance later......... And my daughter still hasn't been born (been almost 2 weeks since this incident). GRRRRRR.

Maybe doing 120 with your pregnant wife in the car wasn't the so safe... I'm sure he knew your were going much faster until he got the laser on you.

Maybe if you were doing 80 and dropped down to 40 he would've said slow down...

Ah, but she wasn't yet in the car w/me I was on my way to get her from her office, as she was in no shape to drive, and I was about 40 mins away from her. Either way, I know it wasn't the "smartest" or "safest" thing to be doing, but I didn't care about any of that, only her & my daughter were on my mind. And now I'll pay the price for it, but, I'd do it again if she called me today w/labor pains.
