New Max Day
New Max Day
Hey everyone, my name is Rich. I posted here a lonnggg time ago when I had my first car, which was a used 2001 maxima
Finally, I'm backkkk
Just picked up my 2010 sv premium+tech with spoiler and boy is it amazing.
I'll post up some more pics eventually, the snow is killing all my fun.

Quick noob question, I'm learning still but does anybody know how to reset the weather location? When I go to nearby weather, it says newark instead of nyc.

LOL LtLeary. You're in Florida. We don't really have a lot of weather types here in Fl where you need your car to tell you.
Sunny, Warm
Cloudy, Warm
Rainy, Warm.
OMG A hurricane is coming. Same as 2+3 with lotsa wind.
and COLD. (anything less than 70deg)
I thought the weather system was tied to the GPS, but not sure. Anything in your users manual???

thanks for the replies guys
i went through the manual and tried doing a few things like resetting the nav settings/memory, but nothing really worked. i might have missed something, the manual is huge lol
i chose the premium over sport because of the added features along with the more comfortable ride (not really night and day, just a little more forgiving over bumps/potholes). The other cars i considered were the audi a4, bmw 328xi, and g37x...which all seemed to ride a bit harder than the maxima given their "sporting" nature. While I don't mind that, I was more impressed with the smooth ride of the maxima along with its ability to be fun/"sporty" when you push it a bit.
All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed with this car. Its quite amazing, and out of the other cars I test drove it just fit me better. I had less complaints/compromises regarding the max over the others. The one thing I wish it had was all wheel drive, especially with all this snow.

krazyrich21 - Nice pics! I used to smile when I saw photos of beautiful Maximas blocked in by snow, and be thankful I live in the deep south.
But here I sit, SOUTH of Atlanta, half a foot of snow everywhere, and no snow plow between here and Buenos Aires. I can't reach my satellite dish (way up on the roof, covered by snow), so we have had no TV all afternoon and evening, and probably won't have it back for days, as the temp is below freezing, and the snow is going nowhere.
The weather here where I live has been rotten most of the time since October. We need at least two dry days before we can work in the fields, and we just can't seem to put two sunny dry days together. At least not since October. And our temps have averaged between ten and twenty degrees below normal most days for the last few months.
At least the terrible drought is over and the lakes are finally full, as we just had the second wettest year since they began keeping records in Atlanta in 1878.
My beautiful, carefully washed Maxima sits in the garage and hopes for a pretty day someday. We take the truck when weather is bad, which has been most days for months.

I park mine outside also (driveway) and I don't get too crazy about keeping it clean in the winter. Some people are crazy...but the salt doesn't do the crazy damage that people claim in my experience anyway. Once it all thaws out, I take it to Nissan and they detail it for like 125 or something, or I do it myself.
The more I see the premium package/nav and the different colors the more I think about swapping mine '09 with 8500 miles. The 0% would be great as well.

i've had some less than great experiences at bay ridge nissan in the past, but lately they seem to have changed a bit. this time, there was no bs and no ridiculous haggling, just a smooth transaction. unlike some other dealers i visited, they didn't try to start out with insane prices like 600 a month...
also, i finally got around to de-badging the "maxima." i kept the nissan emblems because i like them, but i think the car looks so much better without the "maxima" on the back. it seemed imbalanced before. next up are 35% tints all around.

alsy fyi, it seemed to work better without using a blow dryer...i just used some fishing line and took the letters right off with almost no glue residue.
