2009 nissan maxima SPOILER INSTALL
#42
I got mine from http://spoilerandwingking.com/cart/r...70131521002640 It was about 110 painted and shipped. They will color match to the exact color code.
They send with all necessary hardware and instruction. They don't send a template for the holes which i would have found it much easier to do. They send it with some pedestals which you insert into the threaded holes on the spoiler and then attach some masking tape to the bottom of the pedestal, when you place and remove the wing, the pedestal stay where the holes need to be. Worked for me but needed several attempts to get the pedestals just right.

My dealer quoted me about $350 for a factory spoiler color matched, harness, weatherstripping and a new rear deck panel (color matched to your interior) that deletes the original 3rd brake like up near the glass. Kind of a nice package since I can remove the original 3rd brake light and have a clean rear deck like it came from the factory.

you guys are getting some nice pricing on a spoiler install.
I was quoted the following:
$310 for the spoiler
$46 for the wiring harness
$40 for the weather stripping
$198 for the labor.
My dealers quote did not include the blanking plate for the existing brake light which is about $25.00. Also, nothing about heavier duty gas shocks? I haven't heard too much about the shocks though. I do remember someone here on the org mentioned that they were installed on their spoiler install.
I'm looking at a hefty price tag for my install. This is the dealership where I bought my car. I'm going to ask around at a few different dealers to see what's up.

Could someone tell me what exactly the weatherstripping is for? The one that comes with the OEM kit. Also, where does the included wire harness tap in to? And is it long enough or did you have to supply your own wire?
Thanks
Thanks

Just got my spoiler in from spoilersforless on Ebay. The LEDs do look a bit dim, but overall the paint and quality of the spoiler is outstanding. I'll be installing this hopefully tomorrow and Ill try to throw some pics up too.

got my spoiler today and wow does it make a difference!!! $109 and easy as hell to install, color matches perfectly.a few pics of the install......
you can see the screws lined up with holes so thankfully no drilling on trunk side
drilling this was the scary part, they included 4 cardboard like strips with a sticky piece that goes on the spoiler over the screw holes.you then put spoiler in place on deck and get to the right spot then tape the paper strips down and lift the spoiler and there you have your drill points...the strips remain after you remove the spoiler so fill the circles with a marker remove and drill.
pic of the spoiler lots of tape
and finally...happiness,took about 2 hours and well worth it.much better than the almost $400 nissan wanted for a factory one....

Hurricane05...Thanks, I left the light in but it just pops out really easy when you pull it .... if you remove it you can get a interior color match cover from nissan to cover it,I think others have talked about it being around $20

hurricane05 mines got the 30 % tint in the back window and you can't see it from the outside.you could always disconnect the 3rd brake light and leave it in place since your tinting or go the cover route.here's a pic with the light on...

talk to your dealership where you brought it,I don't see how adding this factory style spoiler which is an option would be a problem.at the very least I could see them putting on the factory nissan spoiler at a greater cost too you but hey then at least you get what you want...

Make sure if the Dealership gives you the OK to get it in writing, just in case in 2-3 years when you bring the car back the dude that gave you the OK no longer works there and you get raped for $1000 dollars to remove, body, and paint!

singhmax- I ran my wire through the grommet and into the trunk, remove trunk top cover and go inside car and pop out the third brake light.then you can tie into the connector and include or delete the 3rd brake light...
connectors were a temp as I had no electrical tape....

Does the end of the wire coming out of the spoiler light have an adapter that just plugs in like the third brake light does? Or is it just bare wire that needs to be spliced to an adapter? does my q make sense lol? Appreciate the feedback and the ride looks great!

Where did you end up finding it? I see it one some websites, but for instance courtesyparts.com is showing it as out of stock. My local dealer says Nissan doesn't make the part and won't even call around for me. Just curious if you had luck from a specific dealer or website I should start with... Thanks in advance!

I got an eBay spoiler from Autowing and spoiler king. Looks great, but once installed, there is about 1/16 of an inch of daylight on each side of the upper most tips (toward the back windshield). Basically, it is not 100% flush like the sport/factory installs. How did everyone else's turn out? No one would probably ever notice but me, but I'm one of those OCD people.

Need some help folks!

Question- Did the spoiler come with double sided tape attached or did the directions just specify to put it on yourself? I didnt look at it before taking to the body shop, so I want to know so that I know whether it is the body shop's screw up or not. Although, the hard part is done...I could just unscrew it, tape it, put it back in place, and screw it back down. What do you think?
