Y pipe post your impression here:

ok guys i finally installed it today, and heres what i think.

For sounds it really almost sounds the same as stock nothing really improved with sound

As for power i think i lost alot of low end .....I did a couple of wot runs from zero and i feel it lost power, A little disappointed because our cars struggle enough low end

As from a rolling start and wot runs from 20, 30, 40, i feel it picked up a bit more overall improved power on top end .

Installation was easy took about an hour and a half, overall im satisffied with it, I wish it would of giving me more low end torque, but it made up for it at higher speeds

No problem,

Here's the direct paste:

Ok so here's my input after my first drive...

Startup - car has a nice little growl. Not as loud as my Z was, but def louder than stock.

Acceleration - the car DEFINITLY pulls very noticably harder. At 1/2-3/4 throttle (which is where I usually am for normal accel.) the car takes off with alot more punch. I was grinning from ear to ear.

Overall sound - hard to say really, It's difficult to gauge it from the cabin. This afternoon it should be nice out, so with the windows down I will be able to hear it (32degrees on the way into work this morning... sorry but those windows stay UP). But from what I've experienced so far I am very happy and it is def. louder... just cant give you an honest impression yet.

Highway cruise - Stock sound, very quiet

It did the same thing on my 6th gen. You lose tons of back of pressure installing this, which kills your torque. Next car I have that gets a y pipe is turbo....other than that, not for me.

This is interesting, I'm not sensing any loss in low end.

is it possible that the bullydog gave you more low end in the tune so it doesnt feel like any was lost?

I agree, I am very confident that I didn't lose anything on the low end, and it definitely picked up on the high end.

reason that larger diameter exhaust can sometimes hurt low-end is that if it's too big, the gas slows down, cools, and expands, which makes it 'suck' the exhaust out of the combustion chamber inefficiently

Backpressure Being good/necessary is a myth. You don't want it. Easy in/easy out.

no, it bolts up to the precats on the forward end. It deletes the 3rd un-metered cat in the OEM y-pipe.

Went for another drive last night and after installting the Stillen Cat-Back and Racingline Y-Pipe and this car is amazing on the high end. On the low end it is hard to tell because the CVT is so sensitive. If you don't give it enough gas on take-off it quickly goes into conserve mode, but if you give it too much gas the crappy RSA's struggle to gain traction. I have a feeling I'm going to rip these tires off pretty quickly. But in situations like merging onto highways and passing cars this thing takes off. The acceleration from 55 MPH to 80+ MPH is rediculous.

I don't have the Bullydog tune and didn't lose anything so maybe the tune has something to do with it.

Alright thanx man.. That is going to determine wether or not I go with it or not. I get about 245mi out of a full tank of gas at the moment and as you can see in my sig. I average about 15.7 with all the stuff I have in my car now.

I've got nothing else done to the engine. I have a Racingline Grounding Kit sitting on my kitchen table - I'm holding off on that install until I get the R2C intake so I only have to remove everything once.

What are you doing to achieve such a low MPG? I'm getting a very consistent 24 MPG. I filled up this morning and the computer indicated a range of 450 miles.

+1 on that question... I completely missed it the first time I read/responded your post... I am averaging 22-23 MPG with the Bullydog Premium tune... Fillin' up with Stop and Shop 93... Did you secretly swap out your VQ for a Hemi or something?

To be honest with you I have no freaking clue I have been getting pissed off about that for quite some time now. I put about 50mi on my car at the least a day for about 5 days a week at least most of it is highway driving some city but city accounts for about 10mi of that if I had to say. I have never seen a rang over 280 even when my car was stock for w.e. reason. Since then it has gone down after adding aftermarket products I get about 245 average if i'm lucky.

I use expensive gas to; Shell 93 ($3.10/gal)
