Question Those with Eibach or H&R Springs Installed!

How are the factory Struts holding up on the Max and how long have you had them on for?

What is your input on the springs (ride quality, handling, etc.)?

I am looking into lowering my car now finally but just want to see how the struts are doing before I make the jump for them.

Thanx in advance

Well, thus far they have held up wonderfully and I luv how flat I can take corners without all the side to side rocking up top due to the stiff roll bars. I incorporated my Springs with an FSTB and an RSB and my car handles so well it almost feels like a RWD going around and coming out of corners.

Please be sure to get both FSTB and RSB and you'll see what I mean, cars like ours with stiff anti-roll bars are proned to that rocking side to side motion up top when going over bumps, the lower center of gravity from the springs and the stiffened legs front and back from both stabilizers will kill 90% of that motion.

Hey bk2k3max, which one do you have -- Eibach or H&R? How many miles have you driven on the new springs?

Cool thanx for that info. You think your struts are going to hold up for a long period of time?

Anyone else have an input?

+1

I can't even imagine driving without the springs/fstb/rsb. The car handles amazing now.

Eibach spring opinion

Lowered stance is great, ride does suffer though over bumps, but not bone jarring. I will definatly get a set of struts/shocks when available. I would have preffered to get the H & R springs because of the softer spring rate than the Eibach, but they were on back order and couldnt give me a date to when they would be available.

I don't think the struts are going to suffer anything unless you're the type that abuses your car or ride on really rough roads daily, when I lived in Puerto Rico the roads were so bad that my 03 Max's Struts took a beating there and needed to be changed by the time I shipped it back to the States.

I have the Eibachs and I put over 7K miles on them with no squeeks, rattles or problems with the struts.

The first I'm hearing of the softer spring rate for the H&R's but like you, I'm cool with my Eibachs and I don't get a sense of that bone jarring unless I was going over a speed bump really fast but then again, that would happen even without Eibachs or H&Rs installed.
