Plastic Push Type Retainer

Anyone have the part number for the plastic (push type) fasteners used to cover the plastic protector that is covering the oil filter? I snapped off a couple and thought I might order a few since I am placing an order through Courtesy Nissan for some other items. Thanks!

I'll give you a tip but you didn't hear this from me... I had gotten some from a friend who has a dozen or so extra. He found that the platstic push retainers are one of the things they don't check on the rental cars when you return one of the ones you get from the service center. Even if they did come up missing the extra money you pay ($18 or so) for their insurance should cover any of the missing snaps on the rental car. But like I said you didn't hear it from me. I'm sure they could tell you the number of them at the dealership if you want to purchase some extras. Let us know how much they cost.

How often would you rent a maxima giving you a chance to steal em'? Seems like too much work for a plastic push-pin fastner. Or are you suggesting that any rental would have these for you to take? Either way these can't be too expensive to buy can they?

If someone knows the size of these we must be able to buy em' at the local autoparts chain store (autozone, pep boys, etc...). I bent one on my first oil change this past weekend and need to replace it so I'd love to see someone post the part # or size.

Call your local dealership and just ask. They are sometimes expensive for what they are.

I got some replacements for my 03 and they were only a couple of bucks each. There are a few different sizes, so it might be best to bring in the old one if possible.

Ha, It was more of a joke than an acutal answer. Tru story though but I'm not suggesting renting a car just for fastners. Haha. That would be a little much. All the Nissan fastners around the same year should be he same.
